Every six months, Geoff Keighley gets on stage to bombard us with new game trailers at State of Play on June 4. As if that weren't enough: it's also Nintendo Switch 2 launch week, making it an incredibly busy time for the industry.

Summer Game Fest has largely taken over for the now-retired E3, which similarly unleashed a barrage of gaming news and reveals around the beginning of summer (in the Northern Hemisphere anyway). Although SGF isn't so much of a trade show, it's still a days-long affair, with a variety of other presentations – including Xbox's – following the opening live show hosted by Keighley. Here's everything you need to know about watching Summer Game Fest 2025's livestream.

Where To Watch Summer Game Fest

YouTube, Twitch, & More

Summer Game Fest will premiere live on the official YouTube channel of The Game Awards, Geoff Keighley's longer-running venture. The page is already live, and is currently showing the SGF hype trailer released a few days ahead of time. The YouTube stream is embedded above as well, so you can watch Summer Game Fest from this page.

Summer Game Fest will also be broadcast on The Game Awards' Twitch channel. In general, for live broadcasts, Twitch is a little faster, being closer to actually live, while YouTube tends to have slightly better image quality, though your mileage may vary. A variety of other gaming outlets and content creators will be co-streaming Summer Game Fest, so be sure to check your favorite's schedule or socials if you want to follow along with their live reactions.

What To Expect From Summer Game Fest

Trailers, Trailers, & More Trailers

Summer Game Fest does not have the pageantry of The Game Awards, and will almost exclusively focus on debuting new game trailers. The SGF showcase is expected to run for about two hours, and will contain new trailers and gameplay footage for releases, as well as special guest appearances. SGF's partnered developers and publishers have already been revealed, though the specific games being showcased are being kept under wraps.

With Grand Theft Auto 6 delayed to 2026, many games will likely have their release dates announced if they're coming this year. There will also be brand-new reveals of titles previously unannounced. Summer Game Fest often has a pre-show filled with smaller announcements, frequently highlighting indie games, but one has not been confirmed for this year. The Summer Game Fest broadcast on June 6 will run directly into Day of the Devs.
