WARNING: SPOILERS for Suits LA episode 3.Suits LA episode 3, one of the main stories brings in Brian Baumgartner, who fans will know best as Kevin Malone from the beloved NBC series, The Office. However, while playing a version of himself, Suits LA's Brian reached out to the firm for help with a surprising request.

Brian is set on proving himself as an Oscar-worthy dramatic actor, so Suits LA's Erica Rollins brings in none other than Patton Oswalt to help steer him in the right direction, but not in the way some may have expected. ScreenRant sat down with Oswalt for an exclusive interview about ing the Suits universe as himself.

Oswalt shared how he felt about playing an altered version of himself, as well as getting to share the screen with Baumgartner for the first time. However, Suits LA episode 3 may not be the last time fans see him in the series, as Oswalt teases the possibility of more appearances.

Patton Oswalt Reveals How His Suits LA Cameo Came To Be

"I'm Watching The New Season, I'm Really Digging It"

ScreenRant: Were you a fan of the original Suits or what was your association with this universe?

Patton Oswalt: I wasn't really aware of it when it was on. There's so many good shows right now, it was hard to fit it into the queue. You just kind of have to pick and choose what you're gonna watch. So I never watched the original, but I'm watching the new season. I'm really digging it.

I love when actors get to show up as a version of themselves. Did they come to you, or did you go to them?

Patton Oswalt: I got a call from my agent saying, 'Suits LA wants you. They want you to play a version of yourself. You're gonna have a scene with Brian Baumgartner,' who I love, and I was like, 'Yeah, that sounds great. I'm in!'

Working With Brian Baumgartner Allowed Some Space For Improv

"They Let Us Subtract And Add Things Here And There"

Brian Baumgartner and Patton Oswalt as themselves in Suits LA

This was the first time you and Brian have ever worked together, is that right?

Patton Oswalt: Yes. I mean, I feel like I met him before at some event or something, and I certainly was familiar with his work, but this was the first time I ever got to actually work with him. So that was really cool.

How much involvement do you guys have with talking to the creative team of, 'Oh, this is how I think Patton of the Suits universe would react in a situation like this?' What are those conversations like?

Patton Oswalt: They sent us the script. The script was really well written, and they let us do little ribs, subtract and add things here and there. But for the most part, we did the script they wrote, and then did a couple of es where they're like, 'Just go say whatever you want. Let's see what happens.' So we had kind of the best of both worlds.

Could Patton Oswalt Return To Suits LA?

"You'll Have To Watch Future Episodes To Find Out!"

Patton Oswalt as himself in Suits LA

Is there any chance that we may see Suits LA's Patton later in the season? Have there been any conversations about that?

Patton Oswalt: I'm not going to say! I'm gonna let that be a surprise. I will say I would love to go back to the show, so we're gonna leave it at that, but you'll have to watch future episodes to find out!

I feel you kind of gave it away without saying yes.

Patton Oswalt: I've gotten very good at that!

Sharing The Screen With Suits LA's Lex Scott Davis Was A Pleasure

"It Was Very, Very Easy To React To Her"

What was it like working with Lex Scott Davis, and seeing someone who is now getting into her big breakout role?

Patton Oswalt: She's a presence, and it was very, very easy to react to her and be real with her in the scenes. She was fantastic. I wish I had more articulate things to say, but she's just solid and just nailed it.

Suits LA Offers Insightful Commentary On Actors In Hollywood

"I've Been An Actor For So Long Now, But You Still Have To Live Day-To-Day"

Suits LA city shot

There are a lot of conversations in this episode about being perceived in Hollywood and not being put in just one box. How was it getting to put that topic on display?

Patton Oswalt: It was nice to be able to show that I'm just as complicated and confused and emotional as anyone else. I've been an actor for so long now, but you still have to live day-to-day, and this got a lot closer to, I think, the kind of day-to-day stuff that Brian and I have to deal with, and felt very real and was exciting to play because of that.

What Is Next For Patton Oswalt After Suits LA?

"They're Under NDAs"

What are you working on right now that we may see you in next?

Patton Oswalt: There's two different projects, but they're under NDAs, and I can't talk about them. I feel terrible saying [that] I did just record a new special last weekend, so that will be coming out later in the year. I can say that. But the other two projects I'm working on, I have to remain tight lipped about.
