some are pretty terrible, but a number are notable for being particularly obscure, hard to find, or difficult to trigger. These little-known quests are of fluctuating quality, but some bring with them great rewards and entertaining experiences.

Starfield, like many Bethesda games, has an expansive main mission - as well as faction missions and side quests. Also like other examples from Bethesda's impressive catalog of popular RPGs, Starfield's quests are not always easy to experience. Whether they require specific criteria to trigger or simply just extraordinary luck, some Starfield side quests and miscellaneous missions are little known beyond the most die-hard and dedicated of players. Not all of them are great, but they are worth tracking down - if for nothing more than simply to be able to claim to have completed them.

"An Instant Classic": Starfield Review

Starfield has plenty of captivating tales and dynamic mechanics that make it an epic science fiction adventure - and an instant classic.

10 Operation Starseed

A screenshot of Amelia Earhart in Starfield, wearing a half-smiling expression.

"Operation Starseed" is perhaps one of the best-known hidden quests, primarily as a result of the interesting cast of characters it features. The quest sees the Spacefarer travel to a settlement on Charybdis III, a settlement that is home to an interesting cast of clones of historical figures. These include Franklin Roosevelt, Queen Amanirenas, and Genghis Khan, as well as a number of others. The quest revolves around the player settling a dispute between the settlement's three societies - the Believers, Pragmatists, and the Renegade. Although the primary rewards are okay, the main reason for completing this mission is the ability to hire a historical figure as a companion.

9 Groundpounder

Peacekeeper rifle from Starfield

"Groundpounder" is a rather obscure quest, but one with perhaps the best reward. During a random encounter with another starship, an NPC will tell the player about a distress call coming from a nearby planet. Visiting this planet to assist the distressed broadcaster will trigger the quest. "Groundpounder" revolves around an outpost that is under attack by Spacers. Although the mission is fun enough to justify the effort required to trigger it, the reward of one of the best rifles in the game - the Peacekeeper - should make this one of Starfield's must-complete quests.

8 Divided Loyalties

"Divided Loyalties" is one of Starfield's several relationship quests. Each of the four marriage candidates has a similar quest, this particular one concerns Andreja. Completion of "Divided Loyalties" is required to romance Andreja, and it sees the Spacefarer help Andreja reconcile with Eresen and Jaeda - two old friends who ed a different faction. Although the quest is simple enough, the ability to romance Andreja is a great reward, primarily as she is one of the most capable companions in the expansive Starifeld universe.

7 Breach Of Contract

Barrett looking confused with a city behind him in Starfield.

"Breach of Contract" is Barrett's relationship quest, it revolves around the player helping Barrett investigate Ervin, his deceased husband, and his string of misadventures. This quest will trigger when Barrett reaches a high level of affinity with the Spacefarer, and although this takes time and effort, it is one of the most interesting and emotive quests in Starfield. Like the other relationship quests in the game, the primary reward of "Breach of Contract" is the ability to romance Barrett.

6 Juno’s Gambit

Juno probe aboard a ship in Starfield with a corpse nearby.

"Juno’s Gambit," although short is a pretty great quest; however, it has a relatively inauspicious beginning. The Spacefarer, after traveling to Tau Ceti 3 in the Tau Ceti System, will see a mysterious ship aimlessly drifting around. After going to investigate and boarding the ship, it will become clear that the ship is not abandoned as it houses two Ryujin operatives. Talking with the operatives will reveal the substance behind the quest - as well as evoke philosophical questions regarding technological advances.

5 First

First

"First " is a side quest from Jiro Sugiyama on the planet of Porrima II. It sees the Spacefarer tasked with ing a mystery ship, obtaining information, and reporting findings to the CEO of Paradiso, Oliver Campbell. The mystery of the ship is enough to pique interest, and the quest itself is pretty fascinating, primarily as the inhabitants of the mystery ship are relics from a bygone era. The quest is further interesting as the player has a number of relatively consequential decisions to make - a luxury in most Bethesda games.

4 Dead Stop

Dead Stop

The miscellaneous mission "Dead Stop" can be triggered on Ixyll II. The premise revolves around a missing worker employed by the Eleos Retreat and the Spacefarer's mission to help discover his whereabouts. "Dead Stop" is one of the better miscellaneous missions - it certainly is one that is worth the time and effort. Overall, "Dead Stop" is well fleshed out for something so inconsequential.

3 Space Frogs From Outer Space

Space Frogs

Taking place in the city of Cydonia, "Space Frog from Outer Space" is not one of Starfield's best quests; however, it is one that many never uncover. The quest revolves around the simple task of plastering six posters around town. Although the quest is, for all intents and purposes, a waste of time, the posters are ridiculously cute - an added bonus is completing the quest will unlock the poster as an outpost decoration.

2 Tourists Go Home

A Starfield character wearing the Tardigrade Monster Costume.

The quest "Tourists Go Home" is perhaps best known for its reward - primarily as it is the only way to unlock the Tardigrade monster spacesuit. Although the reward is cool, the quest itself is pretty fun. A local, Doctor Giuliana Lakota, is frustrated by the scores of tourists visiting Titan, and she enlists the Spacefarer to scare away the tourists. To do so, she gifts the player the Tardigrade monster costume and has them stalk and jump out at unsuspecting visitors. Although it is a silly quest, it is an entertaining one.

1 Mantis

Starfield The Mantis Gear Unlocked with Legendary Suit, Helmet, and BackPack

To trigger the "Mantis" quest, the Spacefarer needs to kill and loot a Spacer carrying a Secret Outpost! slate. Doing so will alert the player to a secret lair full of loot. The quest features combat and some challenging puzzles. Beyond intrigue, lore, and the entertainment factor, completing the "Mantis" quest is required to unlock The Mantis ship and suit. In spite of these exceptional rewards, "Mantis" is one of the most obscure quests in Starfield.
