Starfield had many issues at launch with both its core gameplay and approach to open-world design, but fortunately, much of this has been fixed throughout the many updates it has received. However, some issues still remain, with players wishing that Bethesda would fix them as soon as possible in future updates. Fortunately, it seems like Bethesda is listening, as the DLC, Shattered Space, will be addressing many of the issues with the base Starfield experience.

While players already know plenty of details about Shattered Space, there's still a lot for fans to discover and unpack. Fortunately, a number of details have been released recently, largely thanks to the game's Steam achievements being revealed. These contain plenty of interesting tidbits, including a whole new gameplay feature that is sure to please dedicated fans.

Players Will Finally Be Able To Make Their Own Grenandes

Grenades are incredibly useful in Starfield, with players able to decimate entire groups of pirates or aliens in one fell swoop with a simple Frag Grenade. Fortunately, the Shattered Space DLC is giving grenade s in Starfield a huge boost, as its Steam Achievements allude to the ability to craft grenades. The exact achievement is called "Five of a Kind" and requires players to "Craft one of each type of Vortex Grenade."

This isn't the only impressive feature this achievements list has revealed, as players can look forward to another fix to a major issue in Starfield's Shattered Space DLC. However, it is a useful addition, as players won't have to worry about scrounging for grenades on dead bodies or purchasing them from vendors for extortionate prices. Instead, players can put all the materials and items they collect to good use and finally craft grenades for themselves, completely changing how they approach grenades in their build.

The achievements list does not make it clear whether players will be able to craft all types of grenades or just the mentioned Vortex Grenades. However, it is likely if one grenade type is craftable, then all grenade types will be craftable.

While the achievement doesn't go into detail about what a Vortex Grenade is or does, it's not hard to imagine the potential it holds. Vortex Grenades likely explode into some form of black hole, or vortex, that sucks enemies in and either deals damage to them over time or allows players to pick them off while they float in midair. This would be similar to the Starborn power, Gravity Well, that sucks in enemies around the cast location.

Additionally, it's worth noting that the Shattered Space DLC is introducing a new enemy called the Vortex Horror, although little is known about it at the moment. It is possible that the Vortex Grenade could, in some way, harness the Vortex Horror's power, whatever that may be, and unleash it on the player's enemies. Regardless, it looks like the Vortex Grenade, and by extension grenade crafting, will be a huge addition to Starfield and something players can eagerly look forward to in the Shattered Space DLC.
