From bizarre furniture to elusive artifacts, Stardew Valley has a host of items that sit on the game's more peculiar side. With each weird and wonderful item comes a new adventure for the player, enriching their experience of the cozy farming simulator. Adding to the unique relationship building and addictive item hunting that the game encourages, strange items are hidden everywhere.
Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Stardew Valley
10 The Golden Mask is an Ancient Relic
An Artifact Shrouded In Mystery, Waiting Underneath The Sand
The Golden Mask is an artifact that can be found from Artifact Troves or by digging in the Calico Desert. At first glance, it may just seem like an average artifact, but this item's strange nature resides in its ambiguity. Unlike other items, its lore seems to be lost in the depths of Stardew Valley.

Should You Start A New Farm For Stardew Valley Version 1.6?
Stardew Valley’s 1.6 update is finally on its way to consoles, but is it worth starting a new farm over? These are the pros and cons of starting over.
The Golden Mask can be used in the spool of the sewing machine to become wearable. It sports a large purple gemstone on the forehead, which is described as being used in ancient rituals. The mask stands as a haunting relic, begging the question of what mysterious civilization it belonged to. Wandering around with the Golden Mask is another experience that will add to Stardew Valley's charm visually, even if it doesn't do anything else.
9 Magic Rock Candy is a Sweet Power Up
A Rare And Magical Treat
The Magic Rock Candy is a powerful consumable in Stardew Valley that has a bizarre position in the game. You likely know this one exists already: players are able to easily gain this item by trading a Prismatic Shard with the desert trader. However, a Prismatic Shard is a valuable item, and trading one for a short-term buff makes this a very weird item indeed. By consuming the Magic Rock Candy, the player is given buffs: plus 2 Luck and plus 5 Attack.
What also makes this item so odd is its whimsical and colorful appearance combined with its magical powers. The Magic Rock Candy is one of the weirdest foods a player can eat during their playthrough, with its pop of color, buffs, and high trade value. It can also be dropped by enemies, which makes it much more worthwhile, but selling it for 5,000g might always be the better option. Whether or not it's worth a Prismatic Shard is up for debate.
8 The Frog Hat is a Quirky Fashion Statement
A Hat To Be Caught When Fishing
The Frog Hat is a strange piece of headgear in Stardew Valley. Your character can roam around the farming sim whilst wearing large cartoonish eyes and a frog face design. This quirky head-wear can be obtained by fishing in the Gourmand Frog's cave on Ginger Island, with a 10% chance of being caught.
This treasure will also hop back into the water like a frog if the player's inventory is full when it's caught. This adds a level of frustration to the unconventional clothing. Adding a pop of curiosity to Stardew Valley, the Frog Hat is a symbol of the game's playful spirit. Players that don the Frog Hat will delve into the games' wonderful ability to embrace the unusual side of nature.
7 The Garbage Hat Is A Trashy Prize
A Reward For Those Who Love Trash
The Garbage Hat is made from the town's discarded trash and makes for an unusual hat. Another humorous twist to the game's charming aesthetic, the Garbage Hat is found at random by checking trash cans in town. With a 0.2% chance of finding it after opening at least 20 trash cans, head-wear is somewhat rare in Stardew Valley. This probability can be increased also by gaining the powers of the book The Alleyway Buffet.
Upon discovering the hat, the trash can lid will dramatically pop off, and an explosive sound will play. This surprising and playful animation will startle most players, and reward them with a not-so-fashionable option to set upon their head. Out of the host of aesthetically pleasing and interesting hats that the player can choose from, like the straw hat and chefs hat, the Garbage Hat is definitely an odd choice to go for.
6 The Qi Fruit is a Mysterious Crop
A Rare Fruit That Only Appears During A Quest
The Qi Fruit is the game's most unusual crop. Grown from Qi beans after four days of waiting, the player is rewarded with the sunglasses-wearing fruit. What sets the crop apart from the rest, other than its outlandish appearance, is the fact that it is only available during the Qi's Crop Quest. After this quest is completed, the crop will magically disappear from the player's inventory, as well as from chests and production stations.
The fruit can also grow into a giant crop, which is only one of five crops that can do this. The quirkiness of the fruit nature and looks will stand in the players' minds for a long time, taking them out of the grind for gold and artisanal production.
5 The Arcane Hat: A Wizard Wardrobe Essential
A Reward For Those That Slay
The Arcane Hat is both a mysterious and mystical item in Stardew Valley, that will add a touch of magic to a farmer's wardrobe. This hat can be acquired as a reward from Gill at the Adventurer's Guild. The player will need to complete the Monster Eradication goal of defeating 100 Mummies to get their hands on this head-wear.
The item is an odd but sought-after item in the game, as it resembles the iconic appearance of the local wizard named Magnus Rasmodius. The resemblance gives a sense of mystique, and stands as a nod to the combat and adventuring aspects of the game, primarily about crops and farming.
4 Monster Musk Is A Monster-Killing Essential
Double The Danger With This Crafted Item
Monster Musk is one of the more peculiar items that can be crafted in Stardew Valley. Designed to do the opposite of aid the player whilst navigating the mines of the game, Monster Musk is an interesting item that doubles the number of enemies that spawn on a given floor of the Mines or Skull Cavern for ten minutes. Resembling a vial decorated with a black bat lid and filled with purple liquid, the Monster Musk is an item that will pique the curious side of a player when they find the recipe.
Inviting players to engage in combat, Monster Musk can be crafted with 30 slime and 30 bat wings. Players can only imagine what kind of smell this item would give off. The recipe can be obtained by completing the Prismatic Jelly quest for the Wizard or trading for the Combat Quarterly at the Bookseller. This item is also despised by Krobus, for obvious reasons.
3 Void Ghost Pendant Is A Ghostly Symbol Of Friendship
A Item That Will Delight Krobus
Combining themes of friendship and the supernatural, the Void Ghost Pendant allows players to invite Krobus, a shadowy figure known as a Void Spirit, into their home as a roommate. The unique pendant can be purchased from the desert trader for 200 Void Essence. A dark shell with a small red ribbon, the Void Ghost Pendant is an item that symbolizes the dark and mysterious side of Stardew Valley.

Stardew Valley's Multiplayer Problem Is Turning Pelican Town Into A Drama-Fuelled Soap Opera
Stardew Valley players come together to share tales of the most scandalous multiplayer events they've seen in Pelican Town and the drama is too real.
The item is distinct, mirroring the Mermaid's Pendant which is used for marriage proposals, but with a darker and mysterious tone. What makes the Void Ghost Pendant so odd is its connection to Krobus, and his uniqueness. Inviting this Void Spirit to the farm is a curious one, adding to the whimsical nature of Stardew Valley.
2 ??Pinky Lemon?? Is Oddity Defined
Unlock An Interesting Decoration From Acting Random
Pinky Lemon encapsulates the quirky side of Stardew Valley, being a part of a group of secret furniture that can be collected in the game. This piece of furniture can be acquired by placing Duck Mayonnaise in a purple box located in the back room of The Stardrop Saloon. Players will then be able to place this statue anywhere they want in their gardens or home.
The interesting and weird nature of this item comes from both its design and the way it's gained. The player has to do a seemingly random task to get this statue that would usually not be thought of when playing Stardew Valley. The hidden gem invites players to get themselves involved with the myriad of quirkiness, as well as decorate their land with a slice of eccentricity.
1 ??HMTGF?? Is The Weirdest Item In Stardew Valley
A Cryptic Statue Ready To Be Discovered
HMTGF may seem like just a list of random letters, but actually it's classified as a secret piece of furniture that definitely adds a sense of oddity to a player's farm. This item can be found by placing a Super Cucumber in a brown box located north of the Blacksmiths Shop.
This item raises questions about the significance and backstory of its name and looks, giving players an excuse to dive deeper into the game, though what exactly it is isn't clear. Players that place HMTGF on the land will be able to boast about their curiosity and intrigue. The statue perfectly encapsulates the charm of Stardew Valley, and encourages players to delve even deeper into the game and lore.
