Instead of going back to how things originally were, Disney appears to be keeping George Lucas' special edition changes for the Star Wars special edition changes came to be.

Of course, the change that's drawn the most ire from Star Wars fans over the years is Greedo shooting Han in A New Hope, which led to the widespread campaign "Han Shot First", because Han did shoot Greedo first. But beyond that, one of the biggest changes made to the Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi at the end of the film, was replaced by Hayden Christensen's younger Anakin.

It's been 15 years since that change was made, and despite pleas from fans to return to the original versions of the Force ghost is standing next to Yoda and Obi-Wan, just like he did in the Return of the Jedi DVD.

Force Ghosts of Young Anakin, Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars Return of the Jedi

No one really expected Lucasfilm or Disney to revert back to the pre-special edition versions of Star Wars, but some things could've been tweaked here and there; this is merely one of those instances. Sure, it's a minor change but one that may very well take viewers out of the moment, especially since Alec Guinness' Obi-Wan is still there alongside Christensen's Anakin, not Ewan McGregor, who is arguably just as recognizable as Obi-Wan and who starred in all of the prequel movies. Furthermore, it affirms that Christensen is the official Anakin of the entire Star Wars saga; he will always be the face of Anakin going forward.

On the other side of this discussion, though, is a list of changes that were made to improve the Star Wars movies, either for consistency with newer films or for newer generations. For instance, in addition to rather egregious changes like the victory celebration in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. It's just a matter of which changes are worth keeping in the long run.
