John Boyega, who portrays Finn in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, shows his for a fan-favorite relationship that never came to by endorsing it on social media. Boyega and his fellow co-star, Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), have long since shown their for the ship named "Finnpoe," which began the moment the pair first met in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. On multiple occasions, Boyega and Isaac have been eager to respond to the love fans have shown for this relationship, which they tried to heighten as best as they could in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

In a new Instagram story, however, John Boyega takes his to the next level. He shows off a friendship bracelet given to him at New York City Comic-Con that says "Finnpoe," complete with rainbow-colored beads. Boyega adds no captions, as the bracelet certainly speaks for itself. All Boyega does is add his location at NYCC, allowing the Finnpoe bracelet to be the centerpiece of the Instagram story.

What John Boyega Endorsing Finnpoe Means For Star Wars

Boyega's Star Wars Is Promising

Finn and Poe Dameron in Star Wars The Force Awakens

This for Finnpoe may not be anything new from Boyega, but it's still promising to hear that he continues to endorse it even 5 years after the Star Wars sequel trilogy has come to an end. Boyega drew away from Star Wars after The Rise of Skywalker premiered, mostly due to the racist backlash he received from certain audiences over the years. To see him embracing Star Wars like this again, even subtly, is very exciting for those who hope to see Boyega and Finn return to the franchise, particularly in Rey's New Jedi Order movie.

At This Point, Finnpoe Is Pretty Much Star Wars Canon

Both Actors Played Their Roles This Way

The Star Wars sequel trilogy especially has always seemed as if it couldn't agree on what romantic relationships, if any, it wanted to pursue, from potential for Finnrey in The Force Awakens to Reylo and Finnrose in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Finnpoe, however, is the most universal of them all, one that certainly tracks from the trilogy's first movie to its last. It's consistent, as the relationship between Finn and Poe is always a constant presence, and it certainly reaches new heights in The Rise of Skywalker with Poe recruiting Finn as his co-general of the Resistance.

In a surprise Instagram video, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac show some for the Star Wars ship FinnPoe... and seem to tease something.

The most logical argument for Finnpoe's canon status is that both Boyega and Isaac played Finn and Poe's relationship that way, specifically in The Rise of Skywalker. Though they were unsuccessful in convincing the creative team to let them fully show that Finnpoe was real, both the actors embodied that idea in their performances, as they have since revealed in interviews and other discussions regarding Star Wars. Hopefully, this more recent endorsement from Boyega means that Star Wars hasn't seen the last of Finn and Poe together, and that their story will go on in future projects.
