Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld
Exclusive new Tales of the Underworld will begin streaming on Disney+, revealing all-new stories starring Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. However, one of Ventress' episodes was released in full during Star Wars Celebration, confirming a major truth about the secret network that first debuted in 2022's Obi-Wan Kenobi.
where an entire episode of Tales of the Underworld was released starring Asajj Ventress. While the episode explains the former Sith assassin's resurrection following her death during the Clone Wars, Tales of the Underworld also confirms the origins of Obi-Wan Kenobi's Hidden Path and the character who first established the network in the Star Wars timeline: Quinlan Vos.
Jedi Master Quinlan Vos Founded The Hidden Path
The Jedi Council's Secret Assassin and Order 66 Survivor
In the released Tales of the Underworld episode entitled "A Way Forward", Jedi Master Quinlan Vos is shown laying Ventress' body to rest in the waters of Dathomir alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi, adapting the final chapter of 2015's Dark Disciple, a novel based on unfinished Clone Wars episodes. In the canonical book, Quinlan Vos is controversially tasked by the Jedi Council to kill Count Dooku to bring a swift end to the Clone Wars. This motivates Vos to work with Dooku's former apprentice Asajj Ventress, who helps him learn how to tap into the dark side as a means to get close to Dooku.
While Ventress and Vos grow close and become romantically involved, Vos is eventually fully corrupted by the dark side as Dooku's new apprentice. However, Ventress ultimately gives her life to save Vos in a battle with Dooku (resulting in Quinlan's return to the light). After seemingly laying Ventress to rest on Dathomir, Vos reed the Jedi Order, where he survived the Battle of Kashyyk and Order 66, becoming one of the few survivors of the Jedi Purge.

9 Characters I'm Convinced Are Coming Back In Star Wars' New TV Show
Star Wars: Tales of the Empire follows Cad Bane and Asajj Ventress, and their stories could easily intersect with these 9 Star Wars characters.
Ventress recently appeared alive in The Bad Batch season 3, ing the book's tease that she was resurrected via the glowing Dathomir water at the novel's end after Vos and Kenobi left. Now, this newly revealed Tales of the Underworld episode fully explains how Ventress returned, while also confirming that Quinlan Vos founded the Hidden Path, the secret network established during the Imperial Era, which helped Force-sensitives evade the Empire and its Inquisitors. While The Path debuted in 2022's Obi-Wan Kenobi, it was also featured in 2023's Jedi: Survivor (Cal Kestis and his allies were also part of the organization).
How Obi-Wan Kenobi Set Up Quinlan Vos' Return
Referenced Right Before Kenobi's First Duel With Darth Vader
The reveal that Vos founded the Hidden Path is exciting, though Obi-Wan Kenobi did set up Quinlan Vos' eventual return to the Star Wars franchise in some fashion. Once Obi-Wan and young Leia got connected to the Path network on Mapuzo, they were shown a wall with various names carved on its surface alongside the Jedi Order symbol. One of those names was Quinlan's.
Quinlan's name on the wall came as a shock to Obi-Wan, who hadn't known that his friend was still alive. It was also confirmed by Tala that Vos had indeed been spending his time during the Imperial Era helping other Force-sensitives get to safety. That said, it's very exciting to learn that Vos actually created the network, as well as the potential tease that we may see him reunite with Ventress again when Tales of the Underworld releases in full on Star Wars Day.
