19 Mon Mothma Becomes the First Chancellor of the New Republic

4 ABY

Mon Mothma was a vital part of the Rebel’s victory and the defeat of the Empire. Because of that, and her extensive experience in the Republic and Imperial Senate, Mothma was a natural choice as the first Chancellor of the New Republic. Because Palpatine was technically the last Chancellor of the Republic, Mothma was awarded extra power, something she quickly squashed as she did not think it was right. It’s not known when Mothma stepped down as Chancellor, though it has to be sometime after 9 ABY.
