Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 4.Fascinatingly, Star Wars' newest TV show, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, has proven that it can truly balance a few wonderful mysteries all at once, one of which is the true identity of Jude Law's character, Jod Na Nawood. The identity of Law's character has been in question for a long time now, with Jod being teased as a "different kind of Jedi" who has, so far, been seen potentially using the Force on just one occasion. He has, however, also adopted various different aliases over the course of the story so far, including Captain Silvo and Crimson Jack.
This mystery has actually continued to grow thus far in Skeleton Crew, rather than approaching a true resolution. It's becoming increasingly unclear who Jod actually is, and that he likely cannot be taken at face value in any circumstance. Skeleton Crew episode 4, however, has provided a helpful hint as to who Jod could truly be, or at least an important first step in figuring out what Jod Na Nawood's real identity is.
Jude Law Has Hinted Jod's Childhood Is Important
It Was A Key Part Of How He Played The Character
The first clue about Jod's character actually comes from Law himself. In a recent interview with Skeleton Crew cast - is a way of chasing what he never had.

Everything Star Wars Has Revealed About Jude Law's Mysterious New "Jedi"
The end of Skeleton Crew's premiere episodes debuted Jude Law's new Star Wars character, so here's everything we know about the mysterious new "Jedi".
Many audiences have related this to the experience of the young children taken in by the Jedi during the Galactic Republic era, as many of these kids also didn't get to have a true childhood, seeing as they were busy being trained as the galaxy's finest warriors. This was especially true during the Clone Wars era, when Padawans were brought to the battlefield to help in the conflict against the Separatist Alliance. It's possible that Jod could have been one of those Padawans, but it seems more likely that his childhood was taken by something, or someone, else.
Jod Drops A Hint To His Homeworld In Skeleton Crew Episode 4
Destruction Seems Familiar To Him
In Skeleton Crew episode 4, Jod outright talks about his homeworld for the first time. Upon landing on At Attin that's ruined by years and years of war, Jod insists that he's reminded of his own home planet - especially upon tasting the ash. While, of course, many viewers' thoughts went to ashy planets like Mustafar, this could actually be indicative of something even bigger, and even more sinister. Ash could be one of the last memories Jod has of his true homeworld, rather than its environment.
It could have been that whoever caused the destruction then took him and led him into a life of piracy, or something at least similar to that.
If Jod's childhood was taken away from him, then it's very possible that he could have witnessed a similar destruction of or on his homeworld as At Achrann has experienced over the years to make its own surface so desolate. It could have been that whoever caused the destruction then took him and led him into a life of piracy, or something at least similar to that. Regardless, it actually seems as if it could be more than just the destruction that reminds Jod of home, which provides a hint to who he could truly be.
Did Jod Na Nawood Grow Up On Another Of The "Jewels"?
He Could Be From One Of Those 9 Worlds
We now know that there are, or were, nine total "Jewels of the Old Republic", all with names similar to At Attin's - one of which was also, of course, At Achrann. Some of the others were name-dropped in Skeleton Crew episode 4, including At Aytuu, At Arissia, At Aravin, and At Acoda. Given Jod's own unique knowledge of the Jewels of the Old Republic, it stands to reason that he could have been from one of these other Jewel planets himself - and that it could be part of the reason why he's so intent on finding At Attin again.

Every Planet In Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Explained
Star Wars' latest TV show, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, is clearly not afraid of trying something new, as evidenced by the show's brand-new planets.
Jod no doubt wants the treasure, especially as a disgraced pirate captain who seeks to regain his crew, influence, and reputation, but his knowledge of the treasure could be rooted in previous knowledge and familiarity from his childhood. He could have witnessed the destruction of his Jewel homeworld, hence the comment about ash and a stolen childhood. While this isn't enough to confirm where Jod is from in Skeleton Crew and who he is, it is a step in the right direction of what could be driving this mysterious man.
