Star Wars movies and TV shows referencing the theory themselves.
Specifically, LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy included Darth Jar Jar as a character, bringing the concept to the Star Wars screen for the first time. Although Rebuild the Galaxy isn't canon, it is still proof that Star Wars likes toying with the idea, in part because it tends to please the fans. Now Andor season 2 has included Star Wars' first canon Darth Jar Jar Easter egg on screen, and it was absolutely brilliant.
Andor Season 2 Features A Delightful Nod To Darth Jar Jar
Luthen's Gallery Includes A Gungan Skull... And It Reveals A Shocking Detail
Luthen Rael's gallery revealed a number of fascinating artifacts and relics throughout Andor seasons 1 and 2, from Naboo headdresses seemingly belonging to Pé Amidala herself to rare Jedi items that have led to questions about how Luthen would have acquired them. However, one artifact in Luthen's gallery in Andor season 2 has garnered special attention because of its connection to the Darth Jar Jar theory: a Gungan skull. Speculation quickly spread across social media that this could be Jar Jar's own skull, although that seems very unlikely for myriad reasons.

Andor Season 2's Finale Leads Straight Into Rogue One: 38 Star Wars Easter Eggs & References Explained
The final episodes of Andor season 2 are here, leading up directly to the events of Rogue One with multiple Easter eggs, references, and connections.
Even so, this was a shocking but also thrilling Easter egg, particularly because it's been quite a while since Gungans have had a significant role to play in Star Wars. This wasn't just a throwaway shot that served as a callback to a prominent prequel trilogy Star Wars character, though. On the contrary, one subtle detail on this Gungan skull reveals an even deeper and more surprising Star Wars connection.
It Seems One Ancient Gungan Was A Sith Lord
This Symbol Is Specifically Linked To Darth Revan
While a Gungan skull would be a callback to Jar Jar in and of itself, the blink-and-you-miss-it Sith symbol on this Gungan skull serves as a direct nod to the Darth Jar Jar theory. As pointed out by Star Wars' most powerful Sith.
The fact that this symbol represents Darth Revan's Empire in particular seemingly confirms: this is Star Wars' very first canon Gungan Sith Lord.
In fact, one post by fnordcorps on Reddit evidently proves this is a Sith Gungan and even proposed that it could be Jar Jar himself. At minimum, this post suggests that those who were working on the prop referred to the skull that way, jokingly or otherwise.
Again, the likelihood that Star Wars would canonize Darth Jar Jar in this way seems very low, but that doesn't diminish how delightful this Easter egg was.
What Does The Gungan Sith Mean For Star Wars?
This Certainly Reveals A New Side To The Gungans
Even if this isn't Jar Jar Binks, the existence of a Sith Gungan really changes the history of Gungans in Star Wars. Controversially, Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace introduced the Gungans, and while Jar Jar was specifically goofy and playful, that same description could be aptly applied to all the Gungans in that movie. The revelation that a Gungan was a Sith Lord at some point is therefore shocking and a major update to Gungan history in the franchise.

I'm not expecting Star Wars to follow up on this Easter egg and fully flesh out this story, although I would be absolutely thrilled if that did eventually happen. Given the popularity of the Darth Jar Jar theory, this would likely be a celebrated choice among the fanbase, and it would represent a truly unique Star Wars story. Whether or not that story ever comes, though, this Andor season 2 Darth Jar Jar Easter egg was truly brilliant.
