Rey's new movie will be set 15 years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and is rumored to focus on Rey's attempts to re-establish a Jedi Order of her own in the wake of the fall of the First Order. While Ahsoka would likely be an excellent mentor for Rey as she works to do this, Ahsoka's age puts the possibility of her return in question. However, the Togruta life expectancy and Ahsoka's Star Wars timeline thus far offer some serious hints about how likely her return may be.

As one of Star Wars' most beloved characters, Ahsoka Tano has quite a storied history in the franchise. Here's her timeline and her age explained.

How Long Do Togruta Typically Live In Star Wars?

An elder Togruta from Tales of the Jedi looks down with a slight smile.

It's quite possible Ahsoka is still alive in Rey's new Star Wars movie. While most Togruta have a life expectancy of about 85 years, those with the Force can live closer to 200. Ahsoka wouldn't be anywhere near that 200-year mark. Given that Rey's new movie is set 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker, Ahsoka would be somewhere around 85 years old. Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi also showed what an elder Togruta looks like, with Gantika as the wise elder figure in the show, and Ahsoka's appearance is a far cry from Gantika's.

It's quite possible Ahsoka is still alive in Rey's new Star Wars movie.

More importantly, though, Ahsoka has shown almost no signs of aging, including in her most recent appearance in the Ahsoka show, which is the furthest into the Star Wars timeline she has appeared. While it's obviously possible that she died in battle or some other way before Rey's movie, it doesn't seem like age alone excludes her return. She might not be engaging in intense fights (although she very well could be), but it's certainly possible she's alive.

It's clear from Star Wars Rebels, The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka that Ahsoka was more than happy to remain involved in the galaxy's fight against evil, so it wouldn't be surprising for Ahsoka to appear to help defeat whatever threat rises up against Rey. Ahsoka also helped with Luke's Jedi Temple, so it would make sense for Ahsoka to assist Rey. This may raise questions about where she was throughout the sequel trilogy, particularly The Rise of Skywalker, but Star Wars could explain that away pretty easily.

It wouldn't be surprising for Ahsoka to appear to help defeat whatever threat rises up against Rey.

Given this, it's entirely possible that Ahsoka will appear in Rey's new Star Wars movie. What this may ultimately come down to, really, is whether she makes sense to the story. As the movie will likely focus on Rey establishing a new Jedi Order, presumably Ahsoka would fit well, able to provide guidance on what worked and didn't with the prequel trilogy's Jedi Order and Luke's Temple. However, it's just as likely Rey instead wants a clean slate. Either way, in of age, it's completely plausible that Ahsoka Tano would still be alive in Rey's Star Wars movie.
