Sub-commander T'Pol (Jolene Blalock) made history on warp-capable starship, the Enterprise NX-01. After the Vulcans made first with Earth in 2063, they did not immediately give humanity access to their more advanced technology, fearing humans were not ready for it.

When Captain Archer set out for the stars, the Vulcan High Command provided useful star charts, but assigned T'Pol to the Enterprise to keep an eye on the crew. Although Vulcan and Earth would eventually become strong allies, their relationship was initially contentious. Some humans believed that the Vulcans were holding them back, as they observed Earth's warp drive experiments without offering much assistance. Although the Vulcans kept a close eye on humanity's earliest space voyages, they also provided help when necessary. Still, T'Pol later sided with Captain Archer and the Enterprise crew, leaving the Vulcan High Council and eventually ing Starfleet.

T'Pol Had A Romance With Trip Tucker

T'Pol & Trip Have A Complicated Relationship

Commander Charles "Trip" Tucker (Connor Trinneer) served as the Chief Engineer aboard the Enterprise NX-01, and he was initially wary of T'Pol, believing she was spying for the Vulcans. Trip and T'Pol are very different but slowly grow closer throughout Star Trek: Enterprise. After the Xindi attacked Earth in 2153, which resulted in the death of Trip's sister, the engineer had trouble sleeping. T'Pol began helping him using Vulcan neuro-pressure, an intimate type of massage that brought the two even closer. At one point, Trip accompanied T'Pol to Vulcan where she was coerced into marrying Koss.

In an alternate future glimpsed in Enterprise season 3, episode 21, "E²," T'Pol and Trip got married and had a son named Lorian (David Andrews).

Even T'Pol's mother could see that Trip was in love with T'Pol, but he did not express his feelings until after her marriage to Koss was annulled.
