This summer, Marvel Comics will be relaunching the Amazing Spider-Man series, as Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr. will take over the series starring with a new issue one. The first arc will feature Spider-Man going back to basics, taking on the villain Tombstone. Then, the series' 900th issue (#6) from Wells and Ed McGuinness will feature Spider-Man taking on a new villain called Sinister Adaptoid, which combines the powers of Spider-Man's most fearsome foes. Readers are now learning what's coming after the landmark issue, as Spider-Man will get a suit courtesy of Oscorp and a new Goblin-like glider.
Marvel Comics released a brand new look at the Amazing Spider-Man #7 & #8 from Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr., which teases the arrival of Norman Osborn. For an unknown reason, Osborn will provide Peter Parker with a brand new Spider-Man suit courtesy of Oscorp that party Spidey, part Goblin. Artist Patrick Gleason's design variant was revealed, which showcases the suit's new features, including a digital mask, an egg bomb belt (that releases thousands of baby nano spiders), as well as a rocket pack that can transform into a lab rover and a spider-glider.
Marvel Comics also shared brand new covers for The Amazing Spider-Man #7 and #8 from John Romita Jr, Scott Hanna, and Marcio Menyz. The first shows Norman Osborn holding the mask for the new Oscorp suit, presumably about to give it to Peter Parker. Issue eight features a closer look at Spider-Man on his new spider-glider, as he holds an egg bomb in his hand, while he slings another one on a web. Check out the covers below.
Peter Parker working alongside Norman Osborn certainly raises some questions, as does his new Oscorp-made, Goblin-like suit, glider, and bombs. However, Spider-Man seems to be doing it for a reason that's bigger than the optics at play, which will later be revealed. For those wanting to check out Spider-Man's new suit, Amazing Spider-Man #7 & #8 by Marvel Comics from Zeb Wells, John Romita Jr., and Patrick Gleason will arrive in comic book stores and online retailers on July 6th, and July 27th.
