Warning: spoilers for Spider-Woman #21 ahead!

The superhero Marvel Cinematic Universe to adopt should Jessica Drew make the leap to the big screen. It turns out that Spider-Woman introduces the villain Lady Bullseye to people with a mocking name that references her unusual costume.

Lady Bullseye originally appeared as an adversary of Daredevil in 2008's Daredevil Vol. 2 #111, introduced as a highly skilled assassin of the Hand who took on the moniker "Lady Bullseye" after being inadvertently rescued from the Yakuza as a child by the villain Bullseye. Since her introduction, she has become a member of Spider-Woman's rogues gallery, but as with many of Spider-Woman's rogues, she is almost always quickly defeated by Jessica without too much trouble. Lady Bullseye is now part of a group of Spider-Woman rogues calling themselves the "Anti-Arach9," whose sole goal is to destroy Drew.

In Spider-Woman #21 - written by Karla Pacheco with art by Pere Perez, color by Frank D'Armata, and letters by Travis Lanham - Jessica Drew comes face to face with the Anti-Arach9 and is truly shocked to learn that her rogues have "branding" - mostly because she barely recognizes some of them. Spider-Woman has always been sarcastic, irreverent, and able to make fun of herself, so it is no surprise when she acknowledges that all of her villains are pretty much losers, including Lady Bullseye. When trying to the names of her enemies, who are attacking her all at once, she refers to Lady Bullseye as "Lady Boobsout," and on just the next page her close friend Lindsay McCabe also calls her by that name, meaning Jessica is spreading her inappropriate name for Lady Bullseye around.

Spider-Woman Lady Bullseye Nickname

Lady Bullseye does actually have an unusual and even confusing costume, with what appears to be a black and white skintight outfit complemented by painted white skin, often blurring the line between where the costume is intended to begin and end. While she's a master assassin and even an expert lawyer, Lady Bullseye has never truly overcome being a mere spin-off villain from Daredevil's assassin nemesis, and Spider-Woman most recently defeated her not as a singular threat, but as one in a gauntlet of villains. With her return here, Jessica once again greets her with disrespect, though unlike some of the other of the Anti-Arach9, she at least re Lady Bullseye well enough to make a joke out of her name. Some of the group's other are such minor threats, Jessica genuinely doesn't know who they are.

Spider-Woman has experimented with her costume over the course of this now concluded series, and even gotten some violent revenge on those who comment on how she looks in her own outfit. While Lady Bullseye is defeated by the issue's end, both this and Jessica's mockery are likely to exacerbate her hatred for Spider-Woman, and it's probable fans will see the assassin villain attempt to even the score sooner rather than later.
