A Marvel’s Spider-Man’s versions of Mary Jane Watson and Miles Morales.

One longtime comic book character who almost didn’t appear in Marvel’s Spider-Man was May Parker, Peter’s kindly aunt who often serves as a ive and humanizing element to Spidey’s outlandish adventures. Insomniac nearly cut Aunt May from Marvel’s Spider-Man due to technical issues, and almost gave a particularly emotional moment in the game’s conclusion to Harry Osborn instead. Thankfully, May was ultimately featured in Marvel’s Spider-Man after all, where she spends her time volunteering at Martin Lee’s homeless shelter - unaware that her boss is actually the villainous Mr. Negative. She and Peter share many warm moments and endearing interactions in Marvel’s Spider-Man, including one cute exchange where Peter teaches his elderly aunt proper texting.

As reported by Spidey performs in Marvel's Spider-Man. Adding to the strangeness of it all is a random, floating NPC head that follows May wherever she goes, along with the fact that her nephew's voice can still be heard coming from her mouth as she traverses the rooftops of Manhattan.

Jediijosh920 has created plenty of interesting Marvel’s Spider-Man mods in the past, replacing Spidey with some of his most noteworthy foes like the Kingpin and Doc Ock. However, these were much smoother than their recent Aunt May reskin, with Doc Ock even using his tentacles in combat and letting out an anguished cry of “PETER!” any time he does virtually anything. Jediijosh920 also added the classic-style blue-and-red Spider-Suit from the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home as an alternate skin for Peter, not too long after Insomniac officially brought that movie’s Black-And-Gold and Integrated Suits into the game last winter.

This recent Aunt May reskin might not be as technically sound as some of jediijosh920’s past Marvel’s Spider-Man mods, but there’s still a certain novelty to seeing Peter’s elderly aunt swinging through the air instead of her superpowered nephew, and the odd floating animations add to the surreal visual in an eerie way. Sadly, jediijosh920 typically doesn’t release their mods on any designated website, meaning that Marvel’s Spider-Man players likely won’t be able to take to the streets as Aunt May themselves anytime soon.
