Tom Holland's Spider-Man movies have served to give the hero his most frequent costume changes so far when it comes to live-action movies.
Sure, both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's versions of Spider-Man wore multiple suits. However, they never came close to the large number of costumes the MCU's Peter Parker has donned so far. With Holland returning for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, that number will continue to grow. As such, Marvel Studios can continue adapting more comic book-accurate costumes for the hero. Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and many other MCU heroes prove that is the path to go, and these are Spider-Man's 10 best movie suits, ranked by comic book accuracy.
10 Tom Holland's Night Monkey Suit
Appeared In Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
To start the list, Night Monkey is a moniker that the MCU created for Tom Holland's Spider-Man to act undercover in Europe. Since that codename does not come from the comics, it is hard for the Spider-Man: Far From Home stealth suit to rank high on the list. However, Night Monkey has comic book connections.
The black suit's aesthetic and fabric harken to the variant version of Spider-Man instead of Peter Parker's usual suits.
The closest Spider-Man comic book suit to the MCU's Night Monkey costume is that of Spider-Man Noir. The black suit's aesthetic and fabric harken to the variant version of Spider-Man instead of Peter Parker's usual suits. However, with Nicolas Cage's live-action Spider-Man Noir reveal, we know what a really faithful version of the suit looks like.
9 Tom Holland's Homemade Suit
Appeared In Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
While Peter Parker's homemade Spider-Man costume is not the one showcased in Tom Holland's MCU debut, it was spotlighted by the hero's first solo MCU film. Spider-Man's homemade MCU suit has the classic red and blue design from the comics, but without any of the classic sleek elements we are used to.

While that is understandable, the costume looks fairly different from other homemade suits Peter Parker has had in the comics. Interestingly, Spider-Man's homemade suit is closer to that of another Spider-Man variant, Ben Reilly. With the suit's hoodie, it resembles the classic Scarlet Spider costume, though with googles and small eyes instead of wide lenses.
8 Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man Suit
Appeared In The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
Andrew Garfield's two main Spider-Man costumes are impressive for different reasons. While I would normally rank his The Amazing Spider-Man suit higher if the question was about the best live-action Spider-Man suits, when it comes to comic book accuracy, I feel like it is understandable that the 2012 movie suits sits towards the bottom.
There is also a lot more blue than the traditional Spider-Man costumes.
Differently from the two suits ranked lower on the list, The Amazing Spider-Man costume goes for Spider-Man's classic red and blue inspiration and sleeker design. However, there is a major departure from the comics in the form of its yellow lenses, which are not really a thing in the source material. There is also a lot more blue than the traditional Spider-Man costumes.
7 Tom Holland's Iron Spider Suit
Appeared In Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
The Iron Spider suit was first teased at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Easy to say, both the MCU and Marvel Comics versions of the Iron Spider suit are remarkably different in key ways. While the two costumes feature a giant spider logo on the chest, they have starkly different looks.
The classic Iron Spider has a red and gold color scheme. That makes it look unique, easy to spot, and completely different from Peter Parker's regular Spider-Man suits. In the MCU, the Iron Spider has a metallic look and mixes red, blue, and gold. Notably, both do have golden spider legs that pop up.
6 Tobey Maguire's Black Spider-Man Suit
Appeared In Spider-Man 3 (2007)
Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man has basically worn the same two suits in his live-action appearances. With Sony bringing Venom into Spider-Man 3, I was ecstatic to see what Maguire's symbiote suit would look like. In the end, it was more the Sam Raimi version of the suit than a clear nod to the comics.
Still, it served its purpose well and looked great. The black Spider-Man suit is, after all, meant to be a dark mirror of Peter Parker's superhero persona. Instead of changing the spider's design on Maguire's logo, what Spider-Man 3 did was go for the black version of his classic costume with the spider in silver, and it looked sleek.
5 Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man Suit
Appeared In Sam Raimi's Spider-Man Trilogy (2002-2007)
Tobey Maguire's other Spider-Man suit had to rank higher than the black costume on the list. While it is not only the basis for the symbiote suit in the Raimi trilogy, it is also the first live-action movie version of the costume, not counting Spider-Man film serials.
Maguire's classic Spider-Man suit went for the red and blue color scheme made famous by the character in Marvel Comics. It was a great modern adaptation of the iconic Spider-Man suit, made distinct by the raised webbing, with its silver look adding nice contrast to the suit's vibrant colors.
4 Tom Holland's Red And Black Suit
Appeared In Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
Tom Holland's red and black Spider-Man suit is easily one of his best-looking costumes in the franchise. When it comes to comic book accuracy, I feel like the addition of web wings in live-action, one of Spidey's most iconic features in the comics, elevates the suit.
DID YOU KNOW: Red and black was the original color scheme of the Spider-Man suit in the comics.
Also, while I know they are definitely not 1 to 1, I believe that Tom Holland's red and black Spider-Man costume is similar to the one Gerald Drew, Jessica Drew's son, donned as Spider-Man for a brief time. The web wings, webbing on the suit, amounts of red and black, and the eyes are similar in both suits.
3 Tom Holland's Stark Suit
Appeared In Captain America: Civil War (2016), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), & More
Starting the top three is Tom Holland's Stark Suit, which he most notably wears in Spider-Man: Homecoming. While I know that the suit ranking so high might be a controversial opinion, I feel like Holland's Stark Suit is one of the ideal reimaginings of the classic red and blue Spider-Man suit.
Artists like Steve Ditko, Mark Bagley, and more have brought out the expressiveness of Spider-Man's eyes in the comics masterfully. Holland's Stark Suit allows him to be able to tap into those emotions, making his version of Spider-Man more expressive and thus more dynamic. The eyes and traditional color scheme work perfectly in tandem.
2 Spider-Man: No Way Home's Final Swing Suit
Appeared In Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
As we enter the top two, I feel like these two Spider-Man movie suits are pretty much interchangeable. However, given how we have seen only a few seconds of this one, I feel like Tom Holland's final swing suit from Spider-Man: No Way Home has to come in second place.

Thunderbolts* Just Made Spider-Man’s MCU Story Way Darker But We’re Never Going To See It
Tom Holland's Spider-Man story has just gotten even darker after Thunderbolts*, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe will likely never show it.
I love just how vibrant the red and blue are on the suit, with the colors and the texture looking as close to the comics as possible. The eyes and spider are also bigger than some other MCU Spider-Man suits, and it's remarkable just how close the overall look is to Steve Ditko's Spider-Man.
1 Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Suit
Appeared In The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (20114) & Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Finally, I believe that the best live-action Spider-Man movie costume has to be Andrew Garfield's from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. In of comic book accuracy, it has it all. The traditional color scheme shines, and even though it might not be as vibrant as Holland's final Spider-Man: No Way Home suit, it's strikingly close to the comics.
The bigger eyes with white lenses work well and are way closer to the comics than the first film's yellow lenses. There is a big black spider logo on the front, while the back one is red. It's the best Spider-Man has looked so far in the movies, with many classic details from the comics and updated elements.
