As Sink ing the Spider-Man 4 cast in a mysterious but significant role, many are curious as to who she will be playing in the Phase 6 installment.
A tweet that was shared by @CBMovieFan had the jokingly stating that Sink is playing Uncle Ben in Spider-Man 4, playing on the enormous number of casting theories and rumors that have emerged by creating one that is decidedly unlikely. However, it led to the Stranger Things star re-sharing the post on her Instagram through a story, giving her first reaction in relation to her MCU casting news. Check it out below:
At the time of this story's publication, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have yet to officially comment on Sadie's casting report for Spider-Man 4. The sequel is set to start production this summer, with Destin Daniel Cretton set to direct Spider-Man 4.
What Sadie Sink's Spider-Man 4 Response Means For The Movie
While the idea of Sadie Sink playing Uncle Ben is clearly intended to be a joke, her response on Instagram is still interesting, as it has only been a few days since her initial Spider-Man 4 casting report came out. If Sink wasn't in Spider-Man 4 at all, she - along with Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios - would likely have taken this chance to simply say that the reports of her ing the MCU timeline aren't true. Instead, Sink's reaction may imply that she has, in fact, signed on for Spider-Man 4.
The bigger question, however, is who she is actually portraying in the film, as there had previously been theories that Sink was being eyed to the MCU as X-Men heroine Jean Grey. While the original Spider-Man 4 casting report stated that perhaps "she shows up as another beloved redheaded Spider-Man character," Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures may be keeping her character identity under wraps even when filming gets started. With Sink supposedly having a massive role to play in the Spider-Man 4 story, it remains to be seen if this is the only MCU film she will appear in.
Our Take On Sadie Sink's Spider-Man 4 Response
If Sink's response is confirmed later to be because she has indeed ed movie, it will be fascinating to see how she fits into the MCU and Peter Parker's next story. Given her tremendous talent, it's only fitting to see Sink a massive franchise like the MCU. Hopefully, more clues about Sink's prospective role in Spider-Man 4 will start to emerge sooner rather than later.
