In June 2022, FromSoftware announced that their next game is almost ready for release and that they have several new games coming soon as well. This is fantastic news for fans of the company's games, especially for those who love some of their less popular titles such as Armored Core.
It's possible fans could see the rise of more Souls-like games that are more linear like the past games. Elden Ring has proved to be a revolutionary title for the franchise, boosting their overall popularity. These games are known for their rigorous difficulty, and because of that, many fans work to reach 100% achievements as an extra challenge.
Age of the Stars - Elden Ring
The Age of the Stars has certainly become the most popular out of Elden Ring's three endings. However, it's the most difficult to obtain as it takes players on an optional quest line that has Tarnished facing off against various difficult bosses and enemies, as well as a couple of frustrating areas like the Lake of Rot.
While players who want to get through the game more swiftly might find themselves skipping over Ranni's quest line, those who find the base storyline challenging may have an overall easier time by undergoing Ranni's story.
The Usurpation Of Fire - Dark Souls III
Much like the Age of Stars, the Usurpation of Fire requires an optional quest line to fulfill before players can achieve this trophy.
This is a quest line that has frustrated players to no end because of how easy it can be to miss the smallest details of the quest. Many players in fact find this quest line impossible to complete without a guide. Players who don't wish to rely on guides however should try to scout out every area they enter to the best.
Genichiro Ashina - Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
the most difficult FromSoftware games yet. Those who were used to the game style of the previous titles were challenged in a whole new way and had to rely on a completely different play style.
This is most evident in the boss battle against Genichiro Ashina which forces players to learn how to play the game the way the creators wanted fans to. There is no room to cheese or to employ any typical Dark Souls tactic. Rather players must master countering Genichiro's movements in an incredibly long and intense fight. But once players conquer this specific boss, the rest of the game seems far less challenging.
Shardbearer Malenia - Elden Ring
Malenia will without a doubt be considered the hardest video game boss of 2022. This is a boss that frustrated many Elden Ring players and had them calling it the most difficult boss of any FromSoftware game.
It took many players a long time to formulate the best strategy when fighting her. Some use specific tactics to help defeat Malenia like ashes, others summoned other players, and yet other players decided to master all of her movements. Many players so far have found that the best tactic is using the bleed-out strategy as Malenia is extremely susceptible to it.
Not Fooled - Demon's Souls
The Not Fooled trophy is incredibly difficult to how the trophy relies far more on luck rather than strategy. While some players have identified ways to tell if a Fool's Idol is a clone or not, most can't say the same.
However, the right tactic can be employed for players with a strong enough attack that can one-shot the boss with a single hit. One way this works well is by using the anti-magic field to keep her from attacking letting you charge up a powerful blow.
Orphan Of Kos - Bloodborne
Many fans consider Orphan of Kos to be the most difficult boss battle of Bloodborne with some even going as far as to say it is the hardest in any FromSoftware game.
This is a rage-filled boss that can make any Bloodborne player completely question the way they have played the game thus far. It requires more dodging than previous bosses and keeps players on their toes. One wrong move can quickly be the end of them.
The Nameless King - Dark Souls III
The Nameless King was long hailed as the most difficult boss in Dark Souls III, and it still holds that title by many fans. Before the DLCs, this was the epic ultimate battle for the game that featured two incredibly difficult phases.
The first phase isn't too bad for players who are good at fighting long-distance, in fact, the whole boss fight is a bit easier for those players. But for players who are much more used to the typical hack-and-slash style the game promotes will have a far more difficult time. Thankfully, the bonfire is right beside the boss room.
Man Without Equal - Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
The main storyline of Sekiro already features some of the most challenging bosses in FromSoftware's games. So to have to fight and defeat every single boss in the game, including all the mini-bosses, is a truly hefty task.
This trophy puts players' skills to the ultimate test and requires them to conquer every major trial that is laid before the players. While there are many trophies players will have to go out of their way to obtain in this game there is no more difficult than this one, but it perfectly shows why Sekiro is one of the strongest protagonists from the SoulsBorne games.
Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen - Bloodborne
The chalice dungeons in Bloodborne are an optional zone for players who want a more challenging experience. While Bloodborne as a whole lacks the type of difficulty most Souls games have, the dungeons make many players change their minds about that.
To obtain this trophy, players must traverse through every major dungeon fighting against some of the scariest enemies in the Dark Souls franchise, and eventually fight its final boss, Yharnam. She is incredibly difficult, though the dungeons will certainly give players the necessary extra levels to conquer this boss.
Obtain All Trophies - All Games
Each game's final trophy can only be obtained when every other trophy is first obtained in the game. This is a remarkably difficult task as there are always quite a few different trophies in the games that are much more difficult to get than others.
While this is quite the task, many players make it their intention when beginning these games to achieve 100% completion. They want the extra challenge that comes with the difficulty of these games and to get their money's worth and full enjoyment.
