The main characters in the of SAMCRO.
Sons of Anarchy is led by Jackson “Jax” Teller (Charlie Hunnam), VP of the Sons of Anarchy club in the fictional town of Charming, California. The events of the series begin when Jax finds a manifesto written by his late father, John “JT” Teller, one of the founding of the MC, in which he detailed his plans and vision for the club. These were very different from those of the current President (and Jax’s stepfather), Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman), and this, along with other personal issues, send Jax on a journey that makes him question his path, role in the club, relationships, and more. Through Jax, viewers met the most important of SAMCRO and saw them go through many ups and downs, and among those is Tig Trager (Kim Coates).
Tig was the Sergeant-at-arms of SAMCRO during the first four seasons and is currently the VP of the club. Tig is one of the club’s most violent and impulsive , which got him and the club into trouble on various occasions, but he has also been fiercely loyal to the club. Tig was especially loyal to Clay during his time as the club’s President, which led him to commit various crimes that he would later deeply regret, as he hurt some of his club brothers just because he followed Clay’s orders. As a result of all this, Tig ended up being responsible for two of the most tragic deaths in Sons of Anarchy, which affected the same family: Donna and Opie Winston.
Opie (Ryan Hurst) was Jax’s best friend and the son of Piney Winston, one of the First 9, thus making Opie one of SAMCRO’s legacies. At the beginning of Sons of Anarchy, Opie was paroled from a five-year stay in prison, but he was set up by the ATF as a rat in order to break the club, but Clay thought he had really turned his back on the club. Clay ordered Tig to kill Opie, but Opie changed places with his wife, Donna, at the last minute and she was the one driving the car. Tig didn’t notice that, and he ended up killing Donna. In Sons of Anarchy season 4, Opie attacked Clay in revenge for Piney’s murder, but in order to cover him, Jax and Clay told the club that the attack was done by two black men. Tig decided to take revenge and targeted Laroy, the leader of the One-Niners, but instead of running him over, he missed and hit his date, Veronica Pope, the daughter of dangerous gangster Damon Pope.
Veronica’s murder put a target on SAMCRO, but Damon Pope also targeted Tig directly, kidnapping and killing his daughter in front of him. Tig, Jax, and Chibs were later arrested for Veronica’s murder and shooting the Niners, and Opie arrived right on time to assault the new sheriff in order to be taken to prison with his brothers. Once in prison, Pope demanded a dead Son for the cop and Niner they killed, and though Tig volunteered, Opie stepped in and was brutally killed in front of his brothers – Tig, then, was indirectly responsible for Opie’s death, as his impulsive and reckless revenge plan against the Niners (due to a lie) led to Opie’s death in Sons of Anarchy season 5. Although Tig is one of the characters in Sons of Anarchy who went through the most character development and improved a lot, the murders of Donna and Opie Winston will forever be a huge stain in his story.
