Bitmoji was originally launched as a standalone app in 2014 by a company called Bitstrips, allowing s to create personalized stickers for use in messaging apps. Snapchat acquired Bitstrips in 2016 and promptly integrated Bitmoji into the main Snapchat app, offering s a new way to express themselves using avatars.

However, Snapchat has been facing a ton of backlash recently for its decision to make 3D Bitmojis the default for all s. The new change came into effect a few months ago, and has been rolling out to Snapchat s gradually. The 3D Bitmojis are now visible on s' profiles, as well as in chats. The 3D "upgrade" considerably alters what Bitmoji avatars look like, and in many cases, isn't flattering at all. Either way, Snapchat has no plans to downgrade to the old Bitmojis, so the best s can do is edit their Bitmoji or choose to dress them up in new outfits.

Last year, the companies expanded that partnership to add 12 new curated outfits that include the Adidas Originals Superstar J Sneakers, Adicolor Classics Trefoil Tee, Hoodies, and more. It remains to be seen what else the partnership between Snapchat and Adidas will bring, but judging by the latest drop, it has apparently been a fairly successful one until now.
