10 Lois And Clark First Meet

The first meeting between Lois and Clark in Smallville was hilariously awkward. After swerving off the road to avoid a lightning bolt, Lois finds a naked Clark lying in the middle of a cornfield. The future couple's first meeting took place in the first episode of Smallville season 4, which made sure the new year of the Superman prequel series started by firing on all cylinders. Being naked aside, Clark also had no memory of who he was, which led to many fun interactions between him and Lois that would serve as the first step in their story in Smallville.

After looking into Chloe Sullivan's apparent death, Lois and Clark return to the Kent farm. One of the duo's most hilarious scenes in the series happens next, with Lois barging into the bathroom as Clark was taking a shower and poking fun at a desperate Clark, who did not know what to do. The scene is made perfect when Clark opens the bathroom door, only to find his mom, Martha Kent, standing there. Lois then pops up with a smile from over Clark's shoulder, shocking Martha and setting the tone for the couple's dynamic for the rest of the series.

Durance's first few episodes on Smallville perfectly set up the start of Lois and Clark's love story. While both characters would take some time to it that they had feelings for each other, Smallville season 4 featured a key moment where the spark between them was noticed by Chloe. During a fun dunk tank scene, Lois taunts Clark before hitting the target and making Welling's character fall into the tank. As Lois and Clark smile at each other, Chloe realizes that something is brewing there, and her face darkens due to her own feelings for Clark.

7 Lois And Clark’s First Kiss

Lois and Clark's first kiss in Smallville came with a twist. Clark was pretending to be Green Arrow in order to throw off Lois' suspicion that her boyfriend, Oliver Queen, was the superhero. After Lois' fake call for help becomes real when a group of thugs corners her and Jimmy Olsen, Clark saves the day as Green Arrow. Lois then kisses him, thinking it is Oliver, only for him to walk up to her. To make the moment even more special, as both Lois and Clark danced with their eyes closed, the camera zoomed out to reveal that the duo was levitating. Despite not yet flying in the series, Clark's love for Lois literally made them soar.

5 Clark Reveals That He Has Powers To Lois

Throughout the series, several Smallville characters discovered that Clark had powers. Durance's Lois Lane was one of those, with the character actually finding it out on her own in season 9. During Smallville season 10, Clark would finally get to reveal that he had powers to Lois, telling her all about his double life as The Blur. Lois never lets Clark know that she has already figured it out, with Durance's character jumping into Clark's arms and kissing him ionately after the big reveal. After that, Clark fakes an issue to go away and call Lois from their phone booth and surprises her by raining down rose petals all over the street. Clark then asks her to marry him, which is an instantaneous yes.

Lois and Clark's wedding was everything Smallville fans had long hoped for, except for the part where a brainwashed Oliver Queen ends the ceremony by attacking Clark in Darkseid's name. Before that, Clark and Lois slowly walked down across the aisle together, taking in the moment and looking at the faces of their loved ones as they went by. Clark even got to see his deceased father in the crowd, with the couple's vows also being extremely sweet. While the wedding was not finalized, it was still a huge milestone in Lois and Clark's story.

2 Superman Saves Lois On The Plane

Smallville's series finale was the end of the line for Welling as Clark Kent. As such, the series finally abandoned its "no flights, no tights" rule and has Clark become Superman, wearing the hero's iconic red and blue suit and taking to the skies to save Earth from Darkseid. Lois and Clark have another very special moment together, as Superman appears just in time to prevent Lois' plane from falling.
