An Skyrim Anniversary Edition broke previous-edition mods.

Some fans were disappointed that the 2021 game awards once again failed to yield a release date for the much-anticipated The Elder Scrolls VI. Bethesda has continued to release updates for Skyrim and for its MMO - The Elder Scrolls Online - but little is known about the sequel fans are truly waiting for. In spite of the long wait and occasional issues with releases,  Skyrim continues to hold on to a decent number of players and inspires them to make fan art of the game. Much of the appeal of Skyrim is in the beauty of Tamriel, and the ability the game grants to its players to freely explore its environments. Given the setting of the game is so stunning, it is no surprise that fan art of locations in Skyrim are some of the most common kinds of Skyrim fan art.

Today a Skyrim player, serena22, shared her fan art painting of Tamriel with the gaming community on Reddit. The painting is done on canvas in acrylic paint and features a small dragon in the distance breathing fire toward the clouds, which reveal two of Nirn's moons. The painting includes small pieces of several environments, drawing together mountains in the distance, a forest and a small stream - and the possible hint of a muddy road leading away out of sight.

The composition of the painting is much lighter than what is seen in much Skyrim fan art. The colors used are mostly lighter, almost pastel shades; and the day is bright and seemingly peaceful. The only possible danger present in the painting is the dragon itself, and even the dragon seems to be a symbol of tranquility due to its gorgeous, pink sky backdrop. The piece shows no sign of the civil war between Skyrim's Imperials and Stormcloaks, nor of any other human (or humanoid intrusion) throughout the scene of natural beauty.

This fan art is a reminder that even the dark world of Skyrim - with its many known in-game dangers - has splendor to be appreciated, and even the most dangerous and imposing of creatures can be a sight of serenity if given the proper surroundings and background. It is no common feat to picture a scene of a dragon breathing fire and have "tranquil" be an apt descriptive word, but this painting certainly evokes such a feeling.
