A player of 2017 Sims 4 Game Pack, which added not only the supernatural Sim type, but also the blood-drinking mechanic, and the world of Forgotten Hollow.

The Sims series has had supernatural elements since the beginning of the franchise, introduced with The Sims 1's Makin' Magic expansion in 2003. While the first iterations of Sim vampires didn't allow playable Sims to become full vampires, the expansion added a vampire NPC and allowed s' Sims to take on the appearance of a blood-thirsty vamp. The mechanic evolved in The Sims 2, and again throughout the series. While The Sims 4 has many supernatural elements, including witchcraft, many are still hoping for even more mystical additions such as zombies, werewolves, fairies, and other previously-seen gameplay mechanics and features missing from The Sims 4.

Redditor Mightyena319's hilarious Sims 4 image shows off one of the problems with dating as a vampire. Sharing their in-game image to Reddit, the shows their Sim making out with a vampire Sim in front of a mirror - only for the reflection to show their Sim seemingly kissing themselves. The funny image is thanks to in-game vampires not having a reflection, something that's typical of vampire lore. At the time of writing, the post has amassed over 4,000 Upvotes from amused Sims fans.

Despite being one of the most divisive games in the Sims series, The Sims 4 offers some realism not seen in previous games. The attention to detail from developer Maxis has helped to create one of the most immersive games in the series to date, though many Simmers are keen for improvements. The Sims 4 has been criticized for a lack of storytelling content, and a lack of meaningful interactions, which has led fans to create their own in-game challenges and stories. The developer recently added timed Scenarios to offer something akin to story quests, but many are still hoping for more lore and in-game missions.

The Sims 4 vampires - and their lack of reflections - are still impressing players despite the associated pack launching some years ago, proving there's still life in the game. While the Sims community continues to grow, fans are beginning to look forward to the supposed release of The Sims 5, which many hope will contain the quality-of-life improvements and realism of The Sims 4, while also adding some of the depth and world design of The Sims 3. While EA hasn't yet confirmed The Sims 5 is in development, it's likely vampires - and their lack of reflections - will be featured once again.
