Warning! Spoilers ahead for the Silo season 2 finale.

Silo season 3 was a go, in addition to a fourth season, which would bring the series to an end.

TheWrap now reports that both Ashley Zukerman and Jessica Henwick are set to Silo season 3 as series regulars. Zuckerman s the show as a "young and hungry congressman" named Daniel, while Henwick will be playing Helen, a "whip smart reporter." Both characters appear during a flashback sequence in the season 2 finale.

Zukerman appeared in Netflix's Fear Street trilogy and Succession, while Henwick appeared in Game of Thrones, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022), and The Royal Hotel (2023).

What The Silo Casting News Means For Season 3

That Season 2 Flashback Explained

Daniel and Helen's scene in the Silo season 2 finale seemingly marks the show's first ever depiction of life before the toxic event that forced humankind underground. Bernard (Tim Robbins) confirms in the show that the silos were built 352 years ago, so the Daniel and Helen scene presumably takes place well over three centuries before the show's main timeline. The scene is set in a pub setting, but it does feature clues about the outside world, including Daniel being checked for radiation levels and a pamphlet in his hand that has a HAZMAT suit on it.

Dialogue from Helen confirms that a dirty bomb has been detonated, with Iran the primary suspect. This radiological event – and America's retaliation – could be what drives everyone underground, and the confirmation that Henwick and Zukerman will be ing the Silo cast as series regulars suggests season 3 will feature plenty more flashbacks, potentially meaning more answers are on the way. Daniel giving Helen a pez dispenser also suggests that she was one of the first residents of Silo 18, as George Wilkins gifts this item to Juliette in season 1.

In the books, Daniel's name is Donald, but Silo showrunner Graham Yost told The Wrap that they swapped the name to avoid any similarities to a real-life, controversial political figure.

Our Take On Silo Season 3's Casting News

Daniel & Helen's Storyline Could Be A Big One

Juliette getting her suit from Solo in Silo season 2 episode 9

Silo season 2's reviews have been positive from critics, and the show is now set up to continue its strong streak in season 3. The cadence with which the show unveils new information has been one of its major strengths, but it could be set to deliver more answers and explanations than ever in the batch of episodes.

In fact, audiences getting more of Daniel and Helen threatens to overshadow Juliette's own story. The show choosing to dive into exactly how the whole world fell apart could prove even more interesting than what's going on in the central Silo timeline, especially since it will take place in a world and a time that is more familiar to our own. In any case, Silo season 3 is certainly one to look forward to.
