While in the Labyrinth, James will witness some pretty horrifying events in Silent Hill 2 before being forced to confront Eddie. James will attempt to leave the Labyrinth, resulting in another obstacle between him and Mary. If all goes well, you will be able to defeat Eddie and move on.
With many new horror games releasing in October 2024, there are a lot of choices for players who like spooky games. A remake of Silent Hill 2 has been controversial for a long time, but it does have a lot of fresh elements that other remakes do not. And with all the other changes, there have also been some changes to the boss fights that players can expect to face, including against Eddie.
How To Leave The Labyrinth
Find The Graveyard
Once you have left Maria’s room in the Labyrinth, you will have to return to the main hall to continue on. Before, there was a pedestal with a giant cube, but now Pyramid Head’s giant knife is lying there instead. You must pick it up to continue on.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Review: A Surprisingly Fresh Take On A Survival Horror Classic
Bloober Team assuages fears with the Silent Hill 2 remake, a pitch-perfect adaptation of the original with lots to offer both fans and first-timers.
You will be dragging the weapon along the ground, and you will want to take it toward the wall of writhing hands. Go through the wall; you should be able to do so easily, getting to the other side without harm.
This guide is for the Standard difficulty settings. Other difficulty settings may result in other solutions.
You will then drop the knife to climb the ladder ahead of you before entering into a graveyard. You will find many names you have encountered before but no sign of Mary. There are some consumables around, including Health and Shotgun Shells, so pick those up before approaching James’ grave.
How To Find Eddie
Continuing On
Once you find your grave, you will need to descend into it. Once you have fallen down, you will find yourself in front of a single solitary door with blood dripping from you. Go through the door to find Eddie standing with a gun to his head, appearing to mutter to himself.
There are many corpses, and he will get annoyed at James’ look when he walks in. Eddie will point his gun at James, and you will punch him in the face in return. This will disarm and knock him down, and he will make a remark to you before running away.
This resulted in a small fight in the original game, but this change in Silent Hill 2 Remake has all been neatly tied into this cutscene for the remake. From there, you will have to follow him and see if he is joking.
How To Defeat Eddie
Locating Eddie In The Dark
Once you have followed Eddie into a meat locker, the boss fight will start as you have unintentionally goaded Eddie into a confrontation. Eddie seems much quicker now, and he will dart across the room and take you by surprise if you aren’t careful. Generally speaking, Eddie will stay at a distance, firing at you with his revolver and darting in to hurt you before rushing off again.
The good news is, when he fires at you, you will see a flash of light. This can allow you to locate him anytime he shoots, but the area will be quite dark overall. Moreover, more fog will roll into the room in the second phase of the fight. This will also make Eddie faster and more reckless, and he will even whip you with his revolver if you get too close to him. You can see the fight in YouTuber DanAllenGaming's video.
If you are struggling, put on headphones. The game recommends them, and they are a crucial component of this fight. You will be able to hear Eddie taunt you, hear his shoes squeak, and hear him push through the creaks and groans. This will help you track his movements and know where he is in the dark, foggy room.
In phase three, the slabs of meat around the room will also start to move, so you will not have consistent cover without following the meat around. The fog, however, does leave, which means you will have slightly better visibility. His attacks will not change. When you do enough damage in this phase, Eddie will die, and his part in the game will be over. There is no real cutscene or final dialogue, just an unsettling feeling.
Once James has defeated Eddie in Silent Hill 2, he will move on toward the end of the game as Eddie is close to the final showdown.
