merging its streaming service with Showtime. As part of the merger, Showtime will be completely integrated with Paramount Plus, with content from both services available under a single subscription. The combined streaming service is called Paramount+ with Showtime, and will be available starting June 27, 2023. As part of the merger, Paramount+ subscribers will get access to all Showtime original series, Showtime East and West live, and the ability to episodes and movies on the Android and iOS apps.
Paramount+ subscribers could previously access a Paramount+ with Showtime bundle priced at $11.99 per month or $119.99 per year. The new Paramount+ with Showtime plan will be priced the same, which means existing Paramount+ with Showtime bundle subscribers don't need to pay anything extra to continue watching Showtime content. Existing Paramount+ subscribers will automatically be upgraded to the Paramount+ with Showtime plan on their next billing date, on or after July 27, 2023. This works out to an increase of $2 per month or $20 per year.
Paramount+ Essential Doesn't Include Showtime
Paramount+ also offered an Essential with Showtime bundle that's priced the same at $11.99. For these subscribers, there will be no change to the existing plan. However, given that the Paramount+ with Showtime bundle is priced exactly the same, it makes sense to change the plan to take advantage of the added perks like access to local CBS stations and ad-free programming on both Paramount+ and Showtime, barring live TV and select shows. By upgrading, Essential subscribers also have the ability to content to watch offline.
Apart from the new plan with Showtime, Paramount+ is also increasing the price of its Essential plan. Previously priced at $4.99 per month, this plan will now cost $5.99 per month. However, s on the Essential plan will not get access to Showtime content. If s are on the monthly plan, their price will increase by $1 on or after July 27, 2023. Those on the Essential annual plan won't be charged anything extra until their next billing cycle. For these subscribers, the price of the Essential plan will increase from $49.99 per year to $59.99 per year.
Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers can watch all available content right inside the Paramount+ app. Apart from iOS and Android, the Paramount+ app is also available on Apple TV, Android TV, Fire TV, Roku, Chromecast, LG TVs, and Samsung TVs. In addition, Paramount+ can also be streamed on desktop via a web browser.
