Showtime's large library of original programs, having access to the service's shows wherever a customer went, on a television or smart device, was invaluable.

Subscribers would either go to ShowtimeAnytime.com or use their TV operator's "TV Everywhere" portal (a service that has been phased out by most broadcasters). On October 3, 2011, Showtime offered the Showtime Anytime app for smartphone s to (via Engadget). Along with original programming, Showtime Anytime also included feature films, comedy specials, documentaries, and sports programming. However, Showtime Anytime is no longer available to and the ShowtimeAnytime.com leads to a dead end.

In December 2023, it was suddenly announced that Showtime Anytime had shut down (via Paramount+ and Showtime officially merged and integrated their services, meaning time was short for Showtime Anytime. Showtime is now included in the tier of Paramount+, called Paramount+ with Showtime.

The standalone Showtime app was discontinued on April 30, 2024 (via Variety). The programming for Showtime was ported over to Paramount+'s catalog as well. However, the Showtime branding is still used for its multiplex channels and for marketing Showtime original programs like Billions and Dexter. The Showtime library is now available to Paramount+ subscribers, assuming they subscribe to the tier of content.

There are now two different options to choose from: Paramount+ Essential for $7.99/month or $59.99/year, and Paramount+ with Showtime for $12.99/month or $119.99/year. Each option also allows for a one-week free trial. Paramount+ with Showtime has several bonuses over Essential, including, of course, access to the Showtime library. With Showtime is ad-free (except for live TV), lets s movies and TV, and stream CBS live which includes sports and events.

Both options still give s access to the large Paramount+ library, but for s who are missing the old days of Showtime Anytime, Paramount+ with Showtime is the way to go.
