Warning: Spoilers for The Sensational She-Hulk #6!After just over a year's worth of romance with Jack of Hearts, the honeymoon phase may be ending for She-Hulk, thanks to a long-forgotten story from 1995. She-Hulk officially kicked off her romance with former Avenger, Jack of Hearts, in 2022's She-Hulk #4, as has Jack's maximum power.
However, the re-introduction of Jack's old flame, Ganymede, may be putting a damper on their relationship in The Sensational She-Hulk #6. An impromptu romantic vacation to a space casino called Club Sol leads to a chance meeting at the bar between She-Hulk and Ganymede. Moments later, to end the issue, Ganymede is shocked to come face to face with a familiar face she hasn't seen in 30 years.
The unexpected reunion recalls an obscure miniseries from the '90s that may affect current storylines in a big way. To best understand her relationship with Jack, one must first get acquainted with Ganymede.

The Most Forgettable Avenger Make the Team's Bravest Sacrifice
An overlooked Avenger manages to deliver one of the team's noblest sacrifices, which is made all the most impactful by how expendable he is.
Who is Ganymede, and How Does She Know She-Hulk's Boyfriend?
The Sensational She-Hulk #6 by Rainbow Rowell, Ig Guara, Dee Cunniffe, and VC's Joe Caramagna
Ganymede's Marvel debut can be seen in 1993's Silver Surfer #80 by Ron Marz, Ron Lim, Tom Christopher, Tom Vincent, and Ken Bruzenak. The alien from a distant planet is introduced as a member of the Archsisterhood of Spinsters, a legion of woman warriors who the Blood Skrulls eventually kill off. Even as her culture's last living member, Ganymede still abides by their vow, including remaining abstinent. That further complicates her dynamic with Jack of Hearts, whom she meets during the Silver Surfer series.
The duo's continued adventures escalate in the following Cosmic Powers and Cosmic Powers Unlimited miniseries. While a romance is teased, Ganymede never feels as strongly about Jack as he does about her, and thus can never reciprocate. Their union comes to an end in Cosmic Powers Unlimited #3 when she finally meets one more surviving Spinster in Persephone. With the latter displeased that Ganymede has attached herself to a man, Ganymede abandons Jack to pursue an adventure with her fellow Archsister.
How Ganymede Could Change She-Hulk's Relationship Forever
With the pep talk that She-Hulk gives Ganymede, Jen may have inadvertently pushed the Spinster into her boyfriend's arms.
While She-Hulk's relationship with Jack has faced its obstacles in the past, his reunion with Ganymede could change things entirely for the duo. This is bigger than just Jack's past coming back to haunt him or old feelings for both warriors coming back to the surface. What's most notable is how a pep talk with She-Hulk sets Ganymede on a new path to rediscover herself and pursue new goals. Rediscovering who she is may convince Ganymede to abandon her old beliefs, including the abstinence vow that kept her from tapping into whatever hint of romantic feelings she could've held toward Jack.
That is not to necessarily say that Jack is likely to act on any sort of temptation that Ganymede may offer. However, at his heart, Jack's often been portrayed as a hopeless romantic, even in his union with She-Hulk. The idea of a chance to find closure with someone he was once desperately in love with may be too tempting for Jack to resist. With the pep talk that She-Hulk gives Ganymede, Jen may have inadvertently pushed the Spinster into her boyfriend's arms. Now, time will tell if Jack of Hearts takes the bait and jeopardizes what he has with She-Hulk.
The Sensational She-Hulk #6 is on sale now from Marvel Comics.
