Netflix's popular teen comedy returns in the Sex Education season 2 with eight episodes to be released in just a few weeks, the teen comedy's first season focused on the socially awkward teen Otis (Asa Butterfield) and his friend Maeve (Emma Mackey), who work to set up an underground sex therapy clinic to offer up advice to their peers. Of course, Otis' sex therapist mom, Dr. Jean F. Milburn (Gillian Anderson), is there to offer her expertise to her son and his friends as well.

One of the more popular original series on the streaming service, as it was reported early last year that Sex Education along with the drama thriller YOU starring Penn Badgley pulled in record views for their first four weeks of streaming. A full description of what's to come in season 2 was recently released by Netflix and it appears Otis finds himself with a new girlfriend named Ola and that combined with his strained relationship with Maeve, is looking to make things fairly interesting at Moordale Secondary - which finds itself in the middle of dealing with a Chlamydia outbreak.

The official trailer for Sex Education season 2 has been released and it appears things are as complicated as ever for Otis, Maeve and their peers at Moordale Secondary school. The hit British teen comedy dives straight into making things awkward for Otis when his sex therapist mom appears at a school assembly to create an open dialogue about sex with the students and school's officials. From there, we find Otis looking to take the next step with his girlfriend Ola (Patricia Allison), only to discover that his mom might be involved romantically with Ola's father (Mikael Persbrandt).

Along with the original cast that captured so many hearts, it appears as though there are some newcomers to the gang of socially awkward teens looking for some clarity. The trailer introduces a new boy who seems to capture the attention of some of the girls at school, but we soon discover that the good looking and mysterious young man might have eyes for Otis' best friend, Eric (Ncuti Gatwa). All of these high and low relationship milestones combined with a Chlamydia outbreak at the school is looking to make for an exciting Sex Education season 2.

Ever since its debut in early 2019, Sex Education has managed to capture the hearts of many and has often been named as one of the most viewed series on Netflix to date. Known for being raw and real while also managing to be hilarious and endearing, it's really no wonder individuals young and old have fallen for this British teen comedy. It's sure to be a wild ride for Sex Education season 2 and there's no doubt that viewers can't wait to see exactly how things play out for this cast of characters.
