For six seasons, fans of Sex and the City watched best friends Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte take over Manhattan. The fabulous ladies seemed to know everyone in New York and brought us along for the ride as they dated half the city.
We’re all familiar with the big loves on the show but let’s not forget about all the exes that paved the way for the likes of Big, Steve, Smith, and Harry. Miranda Hobbes may be married and a mother when we last saw her in the second Sex and the City movie but let’s take a walk down memory lane to a time where Miranda was childless and dating.
Love To Date: Tom From Weight Watchers
In the episode “Cover Girl,” Miranda decides to Weight Watchers to lose the baby weight after having Brady. While she was weighing in, she met a cute guy named Tom. He was funny and charming and the two bonded over their love of food. Tom realized he had a problem with food when he over ate every time someone criticized him. Now he had issues with both criticism and food.
After two nights of ion with Miranda, she criticized an intimate detail about their time in bed and as you can guess, he didn’t like being criticized and broke up with her. While Miranda meant well, he left in a hurry. He was still a sweet guy, though!
Thank You, Next: Harris Bragen
Miranda was single and ready to mingle in “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” To get ready for Charlotte’s wedding, Miranda decided to a speed dating event for a chance at bringing a date. However, every man she spoke to became incredibly intimidated once they found out she was not just a lawyer but a partner.
She decided to lie and say that she was a flight attendant and it worked. She bagged a man named Harris who had always wanted to sleep with a flight attendant. But by the end of the episode, it became clear that both parties weren’t being honest about their real identities and that’s no way to start a relationship.
Love To Date: Timothy Gibbs
Ah, Timothy Gibbs was the “hot cop” Miranda met in “Anchor’s Away.” When Carrie got robbed, Officer Gibbs was the cop who tried to crack the case but was too consumed by Miranda to really help Carrie.
Miranda was shocked that someone as hot as Timothy wanted to date her, which made her nervous. She had a few too many drinks to calm her nerves on their date and let’s just say it ended with Timothy giving her an AA card, not his phone number.
Thank You, Next: The Talking Sandwich
What in the world was a talented and educated woman like Miranda doing flirting with a New York sandwich? In the episode “Running With Scissors,” Miranda felt disrespected after a man in a sandwich suit shouted “Eat me!” to her on the sidewalk. But one day, she caught a slight look at the man’s profile and she realized that the sandwich man was actually flirting with her.
When he eventually showed Miranda his face, she found out he was just a teen doing his job and she walked away. While these two didn’t date, Miranda kept going back for more until he revealed himself!
Love To Date: Skipper Johnston
Skipper Johnston was one of Miranda’s first boyfriends. The two were introduced by Carrie and he was very Steve Brady adjacent. However, Miranda dumped him because he was too boring for her. He was sweet, forthcoming, and honest but didn’t give Miranda butterflies.
As time went on, she ran into Skipper again and she realized she could have some fun with him. Maybe she made a mistake all those years ago... But as per usual, Skipper was way too available for Miranda and she broke it off again. He was a winner in our book, though!
Thank You, Next: Jack
Jack was so handsome and yet so wrong. He and Miranda met and really hit off. They were very comparable but there was one weird thing Jack liked to do: he likes to have sex in public. Miranda was nervous at first but slowly started getting into it and loved her time with Jack.
The two eventually made their way back to Jack’s apartment where their nighttime activities continued but things took a turn for the worse: he lived with his parents and they walked in on them doing it... Bye, Jack!
Love To Date: Robert Leeds
Robert Leeds was a total babe. The two met after he moved into Miranda’s apartment and she was apart of the apartment committee, approving or denying tenets.
He had a very successful job working for the Knicks and adored Miranda. He was even amazing with her young son! He was the total package and could have been endgame but in the end, Miranda chose her baby daddy Steve over Robert.
Thank You, Next: Roger Cobb
In the episode “Shortcomings,” Miranda meets Roger at the gym on Family Night. Roger’s son Simon was a real brat but Miranda ignored that fact since Roger was so cute.
Despite Roger being a single father, the two start dating and Miranda falls head over heels for him. The only problem is his annoying son. Then, one night, Simon barges into the bathroom when Miranda was peeing and she slammed the door quickly to keep him out. Simon began to cry and screamed for his dad and that was the end of this relationship. Roger should have never introduced Miranda to his son so quickly and he never put his son in his place when he was out of line — two red flags.
Love To Date: Steve Brady
Steve and Miranda didn’t make sense at first. He was a poor bartender and Miranda was a successful lawyer but the two had chemistry. Even when Miranda was being her typical Miranda self, Steve kept coming back to her and made her realize things no one else has.
We all know Steve messed up big time in the first Sex and the City movie, but every couple has their hardships. Steve has always been a fun guy and someone who respected Miranda’s relationship with friends.
Thank You, Next: Josh
In the episode “They Shoot Single People, Don't They?”, Miranda runs into a former flame of hers, Josh. Josh was hot but he wasn’t very good in bed. Miranda was actually “faking it” every time the two were intimate. Eventually, Miranda grew tired of faking it and had to tell him the truth.
Josh did not take this well but was willing to be coached. Sadly, after hours of being taught, Josh still couldn’t get the hang of it and their time in bed felt forced. Having to deal with this kind of issue in a new relationship just wasn’t worth it for either of them.
