Should a Law & Order for season 21 after a decade-plus break.
Should Scrubs come back though, the idea does beg the question of whether or not the full cast will agree to return, especially Judy Reyes (Carla), who didn't return for season 9 due to pay disputes with ABC. There's also Neil Flynn, as The Janitor's character arc in Scrubs was completed in a satisfactory way. Still, as long the group of Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, and John C. McGinley come back, it's likely Scrubs fans would too.
If and when Scrubs season 10 does happen, it'll finally allow a great injustice to be righted. Scrubs season 8 was a truly excellent return to form for the comedy after its jump from NBC to ABC. Its two-part finale was also a terrific send-off. Unfortunately, Scrubs didn't end there. Instead, season 9 was produced, with a new setting, much of the cast absent, and audiences unimpressed by most of the new additions. With season 10, J.D., Turk, and the rest of the gang can get a more fitting final goodbye.
To be fair, despite its reputation, Scrubs season 9 isn't abysmally bad. Its new cast is mostly fine to good, and it's a perfectly acceptable sitcom set in a medical setting. The reasoning behind why Scrubs devotees nearly uniformly hated season 9 tends to be twofold, both involving unwelcome changes. Turk and Dr. Cox were the only original cast to remain series regulars, and former protagonist J.D. only appeared in a handful of episodes. Not to mention that the new medical school setting, despite keeping the Sacred Heart moniker, just wasn't the same. Due to the lack of familiar, beloved characters, the focus being put on newbies, and the change of scenery, season 9 doesn't at all feel like Scrubs.
Compounding that issue is just how great season 8 was, especially "My Finale," which most fans felt was about as good an ending as they could have hoped for. It was a grand farewell and a perfect ending for Scrubs' J.D., but one that would be effectively wrecked the following year. There's a reason so many who love Scrubs choose to pretend that season 9 never happened, and with a potential Scrubs season 10, creator Bill Lawrence and (hopefully) the entire original main cast can get a chance life rarely offers: the ability to correct a mistake in a satisfying way.
