the Scrubs comeback is "so very close" to happening. So, it only seems like a matter of time until Disney greenlights the project.

In an ideal world, every character would return for Scrubs season 10, but sadly, that isn't realistic. For example, Sam Lloyd sadly ed away in 2020, meaning all nine seasons of Scrubs, and it would be a joy to see many of them again.

14 Dr. Paul Zeltzer

Played By: Bob Clendenin

Bob Clendenin as Dr. Paul Zeltzer in Scrubs

Scrubs had no shortage of side characters who barely featured but were still incredibly memorable due to their hilarious performances, and Dr. Zelzter is arguably the one who stands out the most. Appearing in just seven episodes of Scrubs, Zeltzer never failed to appear out of nowhere, make everyone deeply uncomfortable, and then vanish again without ever really noticing his indiscretions. Clendenin has appeared in other Bill Lawrence projects like Cougar Town, and more recently, Apple TV+'s Bad Monkey. So, the showrunner is clearly a fan of Clendenin's character work, making Zeltzer's return more likely than other minor Scrubs characters.

Scrubs season 10 needs to hit the ground running after the divisive Med School run, but it won't be an easy task for the cast and crew to achieve.

13 Nurse Shirley Richards

Played By: Aloma Wright

Shirley is Wright's second Scrubs character. Most known for playing Nurse Laverne Roberts, Lawrence was forced to provide Wright with another role when he killed off Laverne at the end of Scrubs season 6, mistakenly thinking the show wouldn't return for another run. If Laverne were still alive, she would be higher on this list than Shirley, but some Aloma Wright would be better than no Aloma Wright. As characters, they're virtually identical, but Shirley's lack of history with the other staff at Sacred Heart (not to mention the audience) makes Shirley's return a little underwhelming, but also necessary.

12 Dr. Kim Briggs

Played By: Elizabeth Banks

Appearing 16 times, Banks was one of Scrubs' most prolific guest stars. After debuting near the end of Scrubs season 5, Kim became a mainstay of Scrubs season 6 and also appeared in seasons 7 and 8. Of all the Scrubs characters who wouldn't qualify as part of the main cast, Kim is arguably the most important. Not only is she a brilliant figure in her own right, but the fact that she also had a baby with Zach Braff's John "JD" Dorian gives her a direct connection to one Scrubs' most pivotal characters. So, her return makes sense.

11 Dr. Lucy Bennett

Played By: Kerry Bishé

Scrubs season 9 served as a soft reboot of the show after its most successful era drew to a close, but it was widely regarded as a minor disaster. That being said, there were some bright sparks, and Bishé's character was one of them. Although JD was initially a part of Scrubs: Med School, the show was setting up Lucy to be the sitcom's new storyteller, and she did well. Brushing her aside for Scrubs season 10 would feel very unfair, as her arc was definitely headed in a direction that would have made her a long-serving Sacred Heart doctor.

10 Dr. Robert "Bob" Kelso

Played By: Ken Jenkins

Scrubs seasons 1-7 was the prime Kelso era. By Scrubs season 8, Jenkins' character had stepped down as Sacred Heart's Chief of Medicine and could pretty much only be found in the coffee shop eating endless muffins. In other words, he lost his edge a little. If Scrubs season 10 can find a way to restore Dr. Kelso to somewhere near his former glory, he would be an awesome character to have back on TV screens. As it stands, his story is probably over. Besides, Jenkins hasn't accepted a role since 2019, so he may be done with acting.

Showrunner Bill Lawrence's promise of a Scrubs comeback needs to navigate a problem that's arisen since the sitcom's original ended in 2010.

9 Jordan Sullivan

Played By: Christa Miller

Jordan was one of Scrubs' no-nonsense characters, and she was never afraid to tell people what she thought. Although she remained true to herself throughout her Scrubs tenure, Miller's character became slightly more rounded as the show went on. She didn't stop with the endless insults or short fuse moments, but she did become far less brash when the mood called for it. Plus, as Miller is married to the showrunner in real life, it would be a little tense in the Lawrence-Miller household if she wasn't brought back for Scrubs season 10.

8 Dr. Denise Mahoney

Played By: Eliza Coupe

Denise only made her debut in Scrubs season 8, but the growth she experienced over those episodes was terrific. By the time of Scrubs: Med School, she was an established professional and an even more compelling character. It was clear that JD was molding her into his protégé, which made it a little confusing when Kerry Bishé was cast as the lead actress of Scrubs season 9. So, seeing Denise come back as a senior doctor alongside the main cast would be a great form of redemption for the character and the person who portrayed her.

7 Dr. Todd Quinlan - AKA "The Todd"

Played By: Rob Maschio

Todd appeared in 127 of 182 episodes of Scrubs, but he was such a huge presence that it felt like he was always there. Even when he did show up, he was usually limited to one or two lines, and they were often hilariously inappropriate. It's tricky to imagine Rob Maschio being permitted to play the Todd in the same way he did during Scrubs' original run, as the world has changed a lot since then. However, the sitcom wouldn't be the same without him. So, Bill Lawrence and company can hopefully find a way to make it work.

6 Nurse Carla Espinosa

Played By: Judy Reyes

Carla didn't return for Scrubs season 9 and her absence was sorely felt. Although she did have many comical moments, Carla's main role was as the heart of the show. She was often at the nurses' station ready to hand out sage pieces of advice, but she was also one of the most instrumental and hands-on of the medical staff. The fact she was a member of the main cast also helps solidify the argument that she needs to return for Scrubs season 10, or the reunion would be notably incomplete.

5 Dr. Elliot Reid-Dorian

Played By: Sarah Chalke

most skilled doctors in Scrubs, so Elliot can't just be limited to family life.
