In Schedule 1 there are various ways to obtain items. You can purchase them from shops, gas stations, and nearly any business around town. However, this is one way to get items without having to pay money for them, and that's through pick-pocketing.
There are a few advantages to pick-pocketing, but as with every illegal activity in this game, there's always a risk of getting caught. The key is knowing the right time, place, and person to attempt to pickpocket. This could not only get you some free items, but it could save you on some products and get you more money in the process.
How To Pickpocket NPCs
You'll Need Stealth And Good Timing
To pickpocket NPCs in Schedule 1, you will need to be behind them and in a crouch position. You can also pickpocket them when they're sitting on a bench or working behind a desk. Keep in mind, the police can not be pick-pocketed and neither can dealers, workers, nor people who greet you at their door when you knock. When you're within close range of them, press "E" and a bar will pop up with a moving triangle. You must stop the triangle in the green section using the space bar. Your timing must be spot on, or you'll lose the opportunity to get their items.
You will be given the chance to snag a few of the items they're holding depending on your Rank, but you will have to try them one at a time. You will notice a green bar below each item, and you need to stop the triangle in the green bar under each one individually. If you've landed the triangle in the green, you have successfully pick-pocketed and the item is now free to be dragged into your inventory.

What Happens If You Kill Your Workers In Schedule 1
It's easier than you think to kill a worker in Schedule 1, and the consequences for murder could cost your empire an inconvenient amount of money.
If you land on the red, there will be three outcomes, either the NPC will ignore you, call the police, or fight you. You will also be unable to pickpocket this person again until the following day. If the NPC is in the middle of talking to someone or there are people around, they don't appear to do anything if they witness you pickpocketing someone. If the police see you pickpocketing someone, then their alert bar will quickly rise.
When someone chooses to call the police, you have a chance to get away if you leave as soon as they pull out their phone. Be aware of your surroundings though, because any police nearby will automatically be on alert for you. It's best to hide out until the "investigating" at the top of your screen disappears. If you happen to get caught, you will receive an offense notice stating what you've been convicted of and your penalty. This penalty could range from any illegal substances in your inventory being confiscated and a fine which you need to pay in cash.
Items You Can Pickpocket In Schedule 1
The Higher Your Rank, The More Loot
The number of items you're allowed to pickpocket will depend on how high your Rank is. The higher the rank, the more items you'll be able to score from an unsuspecting NPC. You can use pick-pocketing to your advantage by taking back drugs you've sold to an NPC. If you successfully take back your drugs without them knowing, you will receive the "Indian Dealer" Steam Achievement. Sometimes the product you sell to a customer will not show up in their inventory, so this method won't always work.
The kind of items you can find and take is random, however, and it is unclear whether there is a loot respawn. It does seem as if the customers you pickpocket do not have a loot respawn, so their inventory will be empty if you try to pickpocket them again, even if it's on a different day. These can include:
- Cuke
- Money
- Drugs
- Gas station ingredients such as energy drink, paracetamol, etc.
Depending on the kind of item, the green stop space may be bigger or smaller, making it more difficult for more valuable objects. Items can be dragged into your Schedule 1 inventory upon winning the timed event. However, the money will have to be dragged into your cash slot in your hot bar.
