Scarlet & Violet Indigo Disk DLC - Release Date, New Pokémon, Price, & Story
New information about Scarlet and Violet’s second DLC, The Indigo Disk, has been revealed, including new Pokémon, story details, and more.
10 Flygon
Flygon is one of the most beloved Dragon-type Pokémon from Gen 3, and it is luckily making its way into Gen 9 games with The Indigo Disk DLC. Its addition to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is a cause for celebration, as this dual Ground- and Dragon-type is a great option to use in teams.
Even if its stats do not match those of stronger creatures like some pseudo-legendaries, Flygon is quick and hits heavy. This is especially true when considering the amount of varied moves it can learn, either through leveling or via TMs. Its design is also a force to be reckoned with, making it a valuable catch in Indigo Disk.
9 Lapras
Lapras is a blast from the past, as one of the most iconic creatures from Gen 1. Now, it will be added definitely to Gen 9 games through the Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Lapras does have a lot of weaknesses, but it compensates for that with a lot of sturdiness. In addition to that, it is also a heavy-hitter.
With strong Water- and Ice-type moves, Lapras can quickly eliminate a plethora of opponents, as it also counts on some stable offensive stats. It is also capable of learning Sheer Cold, a one-hit KO move that can be a surprise against foes, should the attack reach its target.
8 Magmortar
Magmortar, Magmar’s bulky evolution from Gen 4, is also making its return to the franchise with The Indigo Disk DLC. This Fire-type Pokémon is far from being the best of its category – in fact, the mere presence of Volcarona and Ceruledge in the Scarlet and Violet base games nulls the need for any other Fire-type.
Nevertheless, Magmortar does attend to nostalgic purposes. This creature is part of the large group of Pokémon from Gen 4 that evolve from older monsters and boast a bulky design, including Electivire, Tangrowth, and Togekiss. Magmortar may not be too useful for battling purposes, but it should be on the player’s priority list when completing the Indigo Disk’s PokéDex.
7 Rhyperior
Another bulky creature in the same category as Magmortar is Rhyperior. The Gen 4 Pokémon, a direct evolution to Rhydon, is a titan and a great choice for battles. While it does have several notable weaknesses, Rhyperior is one of the best additions to Scarlet and Violet with the Indigo Disk DLC.
The Pokémon is a tank with an impressive learnset, including the one-hit KO move called Horn Drill. The variety of types of moves it can learn can also make Rhyperior a jack of all trades, being capable of countering most Pokémon it is weak against, like Grass- and Water-type Pokémon.
6 Zebstrika
Zebstrika was one of the first returning Pokémon to be announced for The Indigo Disk and stands tall as one of the best as well. The Gen 5 creature is a solid Electric-type choice and fits into several different team comps, standing out due to its high SPD and great ATK stat.
Even if it can be beaten by other Electric-types like Vikavolt, Zebstrika’s addition to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will allow players to have more options when building their parties for battles. Zebstrika may not be as good as others, but it is still one of the best returning creatures in the second DLC for Gen 9 games.

One Pokémon’s Battle Item Proves A Secret Evolution Is Coming In The Indigo Disk
An interaction between a Pokémon and a held item in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC indicates a new, currently unrevealed evolution is on the way.
5 Metagross
Arguably the best returning Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet so far, Metagross is one of the strongest pseudo-legendaries to this day. The dual Steel- and Psychic-type creature has solid typing, fantastic stats that make it a great offensive tank, and one of the most remarkable designs in the franchise.
Metagross’ addition in The Indigo Disk will certainly shake things up in of team building for competitive matches, as its learnset and fighting value are outstanding. Even if it is incapable of Mega Evolving in Gen 9, Metagross’ mere presence will be enough to make Trainers hunt it down as soon as possible.
4 Archaludon
New Pokémon usually trigger a player’s curiosity, and Archaludon is going to do exactly that in The Indigo Disk. The new evolution to Duraludon has a unique bridge-inspired design and retains the dual Steel- and Dragon-type of its predecessor. As Dragons tend to be stronger than most in the franchise, this is a necessary catch.
Of course, its competitive value remains to be seen. Nevertheless, Duraludon was already widely used in competitive battles before Archaludon’s debut, so it may just be that the new Pokémon added with the Scarlet and Violet DLC will make it a must-have in the future.
3 Iron Crown
Although new Paradox Pokémon were missing from The Teal Mask DLC, they are going to be featured The Indigo Disk. Exclusive to Pokémon Violet players, Iron Crown will appear as a futuristic version of Cobalion. It is uncertain exactly how players will be able to catch them, but it will likely be treated as a unique Legendary.
As Paradox Pokémon are directly related to Area Zero, it is probable that the encounter with Iron Crown will happen there. In fact, promotional footage of the Steel- and Psychic- creature shows it roaring inside Area Zero, so unlocking it should happen naturally after progressing through the DLC’s campaign.
2 Raging Bolt
The Scarlet equivalent to Iron Crown is called Raging Bolt. This Electric- and Dragon-type Pokémon seems to be an ancient version of Raikou. The Paradox Pokémon should have the same Legendary treatment as Iron Crown and appear in Area Zero, the nesting place for these types of creatures.
The promotional material for The Indigo Disk DLC also shows it roaring inside Area Zero, further proving the point. Because of where it is shown, it is unlikely Raging Bolt will be part of a Tera event, like Walking Wake, for instance. Both Raging Bolt and Iron Crown are bound to be some of the most valuable Pokémon from the second expansion.
1 Terapagos
The most notable Pokémon from The Indigo Disk DLC is its mascot, Terapagos. The small tortoise-like creature has two distinct forms confirmed so far and seems to have a deep connection to the larger Terastal phenomenon that occurs in Paldea. In its Terastal Form, Terapagos’ shell has the signs for all different Pokémon types.
Terapagos is shrouded in mystery and most of its details will only be uncovered while playing the DLC’s campaign. This, along with the fact that it is the mascot Legendary for the expansion, will make Terapagos the most valuable Pokémon to catch in Scarlet and Violet’s second DLC, The Indigo Disk.
