legendary artist and writer Akira Toriyama, can now be tested by players interested in checking out the game's unique world. While Sand Land may not be as well known as Toriyama's iconic Dragon Ball Z, the story has earned its status as a cult-classic bot in Japan and the West. Bandai Namco's adaptation of the manga will see players exploring the titular world while encountering all kinds of deadly foes.

Per GamesRadar+, the demo for Sand Land is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and can be ed for free by anyone who wants to scope out the action RPG. In of scope, the demo will allow players to travel around a small portion of the game's open-world map as one of three playable characters: Beelzebub, Thief, and Rao. The snippet of gameplay will also allow fans to tinker with the upgrade system, providing access to a handful of items that can be attached to the Motorbike, Battle Armor, and Battle Tank.

Will Sand Land's Demo Progress Carry Over?

While it's become common practice to have any progress made in a game demo carry over to the final release, Sand Land is taking an alternate path. Anyone who plays the demo won't be able to transfer their save to the full version, but they will be granted a series of unique items that can be used to make their adventure a little easier. Bandai Namco has confirmed the nature of these gifts but they'll presumably be very handy when it comes to speeding through the game's early sections.

What Is Toriyama's Sand Land About?

Based on the Sand Land manga which was originally published in 2000, the game follows the journey of a young Fiend Prince named Beelzebub as he attempts to lead a team of ragtag adventures in a quest to discover the Legendary Spring hidden underneath the sands of a massive desert. It may not be as popular as Toriyama's Dragon Ball series, but it's still earned a ionate following that is more than a little excited to the story finally get its due. Sand Land received a CG anime adaptation in 2023 and subsequent series will premiere on Disney+ in March 2024.

As for Sand Land's gameplay, players will spend a great deal of time guiding Beelzebub and his team through the desert either on foot or with the help of several powerful machines. Exploring the world and defeating enemies will yield new parts for the party's vehicles, prompting s to upgrade and remove their builds to take on more punishing zones. The game officially launches worldwide on April 26.
