The Leo's good spirits are infectious, which is also why they are such a social sign and always seem to be surrounding themselves with friends and loved ones.

Like anyone, Leos also have moments where they may need a good cry to let out some current frustration or sadness. For the Leo looking to cry it out with a good movie, here are a couple of titles that should do the trick, and a few others to avoid.

Cry: Philadelphia

philadelphia

One thing any Leo can appreciate is great acting. The Leo sign is naturally drawn to theater and storytelling and people born under this sign are usually the ones hosting Academy Award viewing parties or recommending the latest hit series to their friends.

For that reason, Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington, is not only a film Leos will appreciate, but is definitely a film that will make any empathetic Leo cry.

Not: Romeo And Juliet

Romeo and Juliet

This classic tale is one that most Leos will be familiar with and they will probably find Baz Luhrmann's take on William Shakespeare's play very entertaining, but it's not likely this is a movie that will provoke any kind of overwhelming emotion from a Leo, mainly because, the tragic ending is something Leos and most other signs will see coming.

A Leo requires a little more shock and awe if they're going to get emotional during movie night.

Cry: Dead Poet's Society

Anyone born under the Leo sign will be able to relate to Neil, played by Robert Sean Leonard, in the critically acclaimed dramatic feature film, Dead Poet's Societyalso starring the late Robin Williams. In this movie, Neil is a boy at boarding school where he has a lot of friends and big dreams.

Neil realizes he wants to be an actor and auditions for a play against his father's wishes, which causes not only a big fight, but a tragic incident as well, that will leave Leos in tears.

Not: Kramer Vs. Kramer

Leos will struggle to find sympathy for either of the main characters in this film and definitely won't be able to relate to them in any way. In this dramatic feature, Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffman star as Ted and Joanna Kramer, a married couple with a son, who find themselves caught up in a messy divorce.

Both Joanna and Ted are too focused on fighting with one another to figure out a way to separate peacefully, which is something that will frustrate the more harmonious Leo.

Cry: Brokeback Mountain

Ledger-Brokeback-Mountain

Brokeback Mountain is a dramatic feature film about two sheepherders who fall in love one summer while working in Wyoming. The film begins in the 1960s, when most gay men had to hide themselves from the public.

This film, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger, is one Leos will love for its storytelling and the caliber of talent telling that story. It also makes just about anybody tear up, but especially an empathetic Leo.

Not: The Notebook

The Notebook

When it comes to storytelling, Leos like to see something original and they love finding hidden gems that most movie-goers haven't heard of.

Leos tend to avoid the more mainstream, commercial successes when it comes to their entertainment, which is why they probably won't care much for the romantic drama, this movie and knows how it ends, so even if a Leo agrees to watch it, it won't make them very emotional.

Cry: Green Mile

The Green Mile

This is another Tom Hanks movie that will definitely make a Leo cry. In this film, Tom Hanks plays Paul Edgecomb, a death row corrections officer during the Great Depression who finds himself speaking and bonding with an inmate, John Coffey, played by Michael Clarke Duncan.

Paul witnesses Coffey perform miracles while they spend time together and realizes that this inmate is not like anyone he's ever met. He also realizes Coffey is innocent and shouldn't be put to death and his inability to change Coffey's situation will bring a tear to any Leo's eye.

Not: Atonement

With a star-studded cast, stunning cinematography, and an epic story, it's no wonder this romantic war drama was nominated for seven Academy Awards the year it was released.

This film seems to have everything that a Leo will love and most Leos will be able to appreciate the incredible filmmaking that went into this feature, but it's doubtful this film will make a Leo cry. There's a lot going on this film and a lot of story to digest, which makes it difficult to feel invested in a character or a storyline enough to really feel for them.

Cry: Titanic

Titanic

romantic fiction.

Leos will not only shed tears for the real life tragedy depicted on screen, but they will also feel so invested in the love story between Rose and Jack that any Leo who watches this will most likely be a sobbing mess by the end of it.

Not: My Girl

Leos love a good coming of age story and will probably really enjoy this film, but will definitely struggle with being emotionally invested in it.

There are a few scenes in particular that are meant to be sad and provoke a reaction from their audience, but the film and the performances may be a little too outdated for a Leo to appreciate.
