A group of professional artists led by YouTuber/Twitch Streamer RubberRoss gathered together recently to create animated fan art of the find themselves "venomized" as the symbiote bonds with them. Now, this concept has been brought to other characters outside of the Marvel canon by RubberRoss and his animator friends, leading to some wildly creative animated fan art that's amazing to watch.
The platform used by these animators is a popular online party game called Gartic Phone. On this site, players can engage in a hilarious game of Telephone where one person writes a prompt, the next person draws it, then the next person describes it and so on until everyone's had a turn. The results are often-times hilarious to see how far away from the original prompt it went. However, Gartic Phone introduced an animation mode that allows players to slowly create frames that turn into animated gifs by the end of the round, which is what RubberRoss and his friends use for Venom in this video.
In the YouTube video posted by RubberRoss, each artist begins by drawing a character with the symbiote—primarily Venom—slowly taking over. As the round goes on, they progress each character to their final "venomized" form. Some of the characters chosen include Kirby, Poison from Street Fighter, Samus from Metroid, Jenny from My Life as a Teenage Robot and more. The results are just incredible. Some end animations take on a serious form like with Jenny trying to resist the symbiote by firing a laser at it before it overtakes her. Other times they can be funny with Kirby just being oblivious to what's happening to him, ultimately sucking up Venom with his power. Regardless of the tone though, the frames are so tight that they create smooth animation, and the Venom forms are undoubtedly cool.
One notable endgame form includes while also watching Venom—and sometimes Carnage—merge with popular characters.
RubberRoss and his friends really created something special here with this video. This isn't their first time doing this; they do this type of content constantly with new themes to spice things up a bit. This is undoubtedly one of their coolest though because of how creative the animation is to show the Venom symbiote take over a video game character and give them a dark Venom form, and it'll be interesting to see if they revisit this idea again or even dive into other comic book concepts to create unique animated fan art.
