NBC is rebooting a major USA Network series with an original star. Recently, the network has revisited the Suits universe with a spinoff series, Suits L.A., that follows Ted Back (Stephen Amell), a former federal prosecutor from New York, who moved to Los Angeles to become an entertainment lawyer. The series has managed to bring back familiar faces from the original show, including Gabriel Macht, who reprised his role as Harvey Specter.

Meanwhile, NBC has also brought forth a new sitcom, Happy's Place, starring Reba McEntire, Melissa Peterman, and Rex Linn, among others. After a successful season 1, Happy's Place received a renewal for season 2. In addition to Suits, several USA Network series are expected to receive reboots, including the Matt Bomer-led White Collar. A long-awaited reboot by the original show's creator, Jeff Eastin, has hit the marketplace in February, and now, another beloved USA Network show reboot is in the works.

NBC Reboots Hit USA Network Series Royal Pains With Mark Feuerstein

A Royal Pains Reboot Is In The Works With Original Show Creator

The USA Network comedy-drama series, Royal Pains, ran from 2009 to 2016 and centered around a brilliant Emergency Room doctor (Mark Feuerstein) who was unfairly discredited and ended up working with his younger brother in the Hamptons as a concierge doctor for the rich. Starring Paulo Costanzo, Reshma Shetty, Jill Flint, Campbell Scott, Brooke D’Orsay, and others, the eight-season show was part of the network's "Blue Sky" era.

Royal Pains Still Captivates Fans Nearly A Decade Later

Royal Pains was always meant to come back. Back in 2016, when the show ended after eight seasons, executive producer Michael Rauch shared that the final season was written with the possibility for the characters to come back in mind. After the show was added to Netflix's streaming platform in January 2024, it enjoyed a comeback, having landed on Nielsen's Top 10 Streaming Chart the next month.

While there's little to know about plot details and cast information about the Royal Pains reboot project, it seems that it may have something to do with the original series' streaming success last year. Sadly, the original show left Netflix in December, but fans can still catch Hank on Prime Video, Apple TV+, and Fandango At Home.
