Rocky is one of the most popular franchises of all time, and with all kinds of movies and TV shows in the works, here are 7 Rocky and Creed projects that are currently in development. Creed III is the most recent installment in the Rocky franchise, with it continuing the exciting story of Michael B. Jordan's Adonis Creed. Due to the film's critical and commercial success, the Rocky franchise is currently undergoing plans to become bigger than it has ever been, with all kinds of spin-offs and sequels in the works.

Sylvester Stallone's 1976 film Rocky may have had humble beginnings, but it has gone on to spawn a massive franchise that is still going strong nearly half a century later. The franchise centers around the sport of boxing, with the first six Rocky movies focusing on Sylvester Stallone's titular Italian Stallion, Rocky Balboa. These films were huge successes, leading to the series getting its first major spin-off in 2015: Creed. Creed has become just as popular as the original movies, with several Creed spin-offs and sequels now being set up. So, here is every future Rocky and Creed project that has been confirmed (via Deadline).

7 Creed IV

In February 2023, Michael B. Jordan officially announced that Creed IV was in development, with him set to return as Adonis Creed. However, that is about all the news that has been released about the film, with the team behind the Rocky franchise remaining tight-lipped on the sequel. Due to how successful Creed III was upon its March 2023 release, it's inevitable that Creed IV will happen. However, there are still tons of questions surrounding Creed IV, including who else will return, what it will be about, and when it will release.

No release date for Creed IV has been announced, and with a six-year gap between Creed II and Creed III, it could be a while before the sequel releases. The story of Creed IV is still up in the air, as it could feature the return of Jonathan Majors' "Diamond" Dame Anderson, or it could introduce a new villain. Although it is expected that Bianca and Amara Creed will return for the film, one of Creed IV's biggest unknowns is if Sylvester Stallone will return as Rocky Balboa. Due to behind-the-scenes conflicts, Stallone declined to return for Creed III, although he doesn't seem entirely opposed to future franchise involvement.

6 Drago

A Drago spin-off film was officially announced by MGM in 2022, although rumors had been circling about its development since late 2021. Although there were rumors that the story of the Drago spin-off movie would be a prequel focusing on Ivan Drago, it now seems that the spin-off will be a sequel to Creed III due to the involvement of Viktor Drago actor Florian Munteanu. Much like how Creed focused on the son of Rocky's villain Apollo Creed, Drago will be focusing on the villain of Rocky IV as well as his son, meaning that it has the potential to create an entire subseries in the same vein as Creed.

5 The Rocky Prequel Series

Although the Rocky franchise has been entirely made up of movies until this point, it seems like that will all change upon the release of the Rocky prequel TV series. Sylvester Stallone first announced the Rocky prequel series in 2019, although his conflicts with MGM have caused development on the project to stall. However, the series seems to be revived due to Amazon's initiative to expand the Rocky franchise. It isn't known exactly what the Rocky prequel will focus on, although it seems likely that it could follow a young Balboa as he works as a mob enforcer while fighting his way up Philadelphia's boxing circuit.

4 The Creed Anime

One of the weirdest and most exciting projects that was announced by Amazon is a Creed anime series. Michael B. Jordan has cited anime as a big influence on Creed III, with a full anime series being the next logical step. A Creed III anime short was released in Japan on May 26, 2023, and although it hasn't had an international release yet, it's possible that the series could be an expansion of this short. It isn't known if the Creed anime will feature Michael B. Jordan or even have Adonis Creed at all. However, whether it does or doesn't, the idea of a Creed anime is incredibly exciting.

3 An Amara Creed Spin-Off

Another exciting Creed TV show that is in the works is a spin-off series based on Amara Creed, the daughter of Adonis Creed. Although Amara is only a young child in Creed III, she clearly wants to step into the ring, with the film teasing that Adonis will train her to be a fighter. It's possible that this is what the Amara Creed spin-off could be about, following a slightly older version of the character. Very few details about the Amara Creed spin-off have been revealed, but the Amazon show is still incredibly exciting nonetheless.

2 Untitled Live-Action Creed Spin-Off Series

Alongside the Rocky prequel, the Amara spin-off, and the Creed anime, one other Creed project has been announced. Amazon has revealed that another live-action Creed spin-off series is in the works, although virtually nothing is known about it. The project, which is currently untitled, could focus on another one of the franchise's fighters, such as Felix Chavez or "Pretty" Ricky Conlan. The Rocky franchise is incredibly expansive, meaning that there are plenty of characters that could be featured and stories that could be told in the untitled live-action Creed spin-off series. While details are still vague, hopefully, more is heard soon.

1 Rocky VII

The final Rocky and Creed project that is currently in development is Rocky VII. Sylvester Stallone revealed details about Rocky VII in 2020, explaining that the story of the film would run subsequent to the Creed movies. Stallone's Rocky VII script sees Rocky befriending a young immigrant boxer, taking him under his wing and training him. Although there is a script, some fans are doubtful that Rocky VII will ever happen due to the conflicts between Stallone and the holders of Rocky's rights. Although it may seem unlikely, hopefully Rocky VII can eventually release and fully the torch from Rocky to Creed.
