In season 4, episode 7, Gideon confronts Pontius and his friends at a skate park. Pontius attempts to paint Gideon as lame, but Gideon manages to prove everyone wrong with his skateboarding skills. Gideon wins over many of his friends, with Pontius being shocked about his brother's talents.

However, Pontius shouldn't be surprised by Gideon's skateboarding skills. Before Gideon's return in The Righteous Gemstones season 4, he was in Hollywood, with him acting as a stuntman in movies. Gideon has demonstrated his athletic and vehicular abilities throughout the show, and being a prolific skateboarder isn't out of character for him.

Pontius has been given more screentime than ever before in The Righteous Gemstones season 4, but he has also been meaner than ever before. Pontius is constantly belittling Gideon and disrespecting Gemstone Ministries. Gideon has made it his mission to get Gideon to calm down, but he hasn't made much ground.

Pontius' treatment of Gideon is likely an indicator of his views of the Gemstone family as a whole. The scandals that Jesse and the rest of the family have been involved in have brought a lot of negative attention to the family, and Pontius could be wanting to separate himself from that. However, Pontius has definitely overcorrected, with him repeating Gideon's prodigal son story in The Righteous Gemstones season 4.
