Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Rick & Morty season 8, episode 2, "Valkyrick".Rick and Morty season 8 feels like a new show in all the right ways. While the series continues to take risks, such as giving Rick a solo episode, it has once again found the right balance of producing great adventures and interesting stories while maintaining the quirky humor that makes Rick and Morty so famous.

More importantly, the show is once again getting the best out of its side characters by finding much more creative ways to use them. Although Rick and Morty season 8's premiere was centered mostly around the Smith family, "Valkyrick" focused on Rick helping Space Beth with her mission against the Gromflomites' evil doctor, but they didn't do it alone. After their initial plan suffered some setbacks, the duo teamed up with some trustworthy Gromflomites alongside some familiar faces called in by Rick. This marked the return of two notable side characters, and one appearance felt particularly exciting.

Birddaughter Made Another Appearance In Rick & Morty Season 8 After Returning In Season 7’s Premiere

Birddaughter Is Becoming A Frequently Recurring ing Character

Having first appeared in season 5, it was unclear how prominent of a side character Birddaughter would be in Rick and Morty, but on top of her cameo in season 7's premiere, Birddaughter featured once again in "Valkyrick". Given that Birdperson is a fan favorite among audiences and one of Rick's closest allies, it's hardly a huge shock to see that his daughter is also becoming an increasingly important character. Growing up in a Galactic Federation prison made her fairly hostile and aggressive, but Birdperson seems to have redirected that violence and slowly mended his relationship with Birddaughter.

Rick & Morty's Season 8 Premiere Puts A New Twist On One Of The Show's Most Underrated Duos

Rick and Morty hasn't done much with Beth and Summer's relationship in the past, but the season 8 premiere puts a fun spin on their dynamic.

Her role in season 8, episode 2, saw her arrive with her father to help Rick and Space Beth on their mission, where she gleefully killed several Gromflomites. While she was mainly there to help fight off the episode's villains, she did help rescue Rick and Space Beth before the cave exploded, showing she is still a useful ally despite her violent tendencies. Considering she was only given minor cameos in her previous appearances, seeing Rick and Morty season 8 give Birddaugher a bigger spotlight was a welcomed surprise, and it could be a sign she will feature more regularly.

I Hope Rick & Morty Makes Birddaughter’s Cameos A Common Trend

Rick & Morty Still Has A Lot To Explore Regarding Birdperson's Daughter

Considering she is a complete wildcard; I really hope Rick and Morty continues giving Birddaugher regular cameos. Although we know she loves violence and isn't much of a people person, there is still so much to explore regarding the character, and I think the series could get great mileage out of her. Her history with the Galactic Federation prison is something that could be followed up on, perhaps explaining how it actually impacted her alongside what specific events made her so violent.

The idea of Birddaughter feeling conflicted between following in her mother's footsteps or embracing her father and becoming a genuinely good person sounds compelling.

Additionally, she also seems to have inherited some traits from her mother, Tammy - a former villain in Rick and Morty - which could also make for a great future story. The idea of Birddaughter feeling conflicted between following in her mother's footsteps or embracing her father and becoming a genuinely good person sounds compelling, and it could continue the experiment of Rick and Morty's solo episodes, given the plot wouldn't leave a lot of room for Morty.

However, seeing how Birddaughter interacts with other kids like Morty would also be a hilarious concept that should happen in the future. Watching Rick force Morty into hanging out with Birddaughter while he goes on some sort of adventure with Birdperson could help flesh out Birddaughter's character and highlight just how unique she really is. Regardless of what Rick and Morty does with the character, having Birddaughter around almost certainly means more Birdperson, which is always a bonus, and I hope she transitions into a recurring ally for years to come.
