While accessible to everyone, it takes some skill to pilot these ships and survive some of the most grueling battles. Speed and technique are all factors, but the simple ability to repair ships in the midst of battle will keep players alive and dashing through space.

Squadrons allow players to balance their ship's power output by prioritizing shield, speed, attack power, or an overall balanced setup. Each mode will be required to stay alive depending on the circumstances but it's not easy to avoid every shot. This guide will show players how to repair their ships.

How to Repair Your Ship in Star Wars Squadrons

While it's not the same for every ship, repairing is fairly simple. Unfortunately, this system isn't infinite and requires time to refresh before becoming available again. Every ship has a main firing mode as well as a left and right auxiliary function. In the case of X-wing fighters and Tie-Fighters as demonstrated from the start of the game, simply press the Left button/bumper for the left auxiliary function to initiate the repair sequence on Xbox and PlayStation. For PC, Q is the default key binding. This method is not full-proof as it repairs the ship quickly but over a period of time. It would make sense to direct power to the shields during this process since players are still vulnerable. Even worse, would be to grow lax during multiplayer and get taken out by an opposing player.

During the campaign, another method is to call for a resupply unit that drops a random repair drone on the ship to repair it. Doing this will repair the ship a little bit and allow players to keep fighting. For bombers and class ships, an instant repair function is not available. Returning to the home ship is the only way for these ships to receive repairs since the auxiliary functions are mapped to other things. In their case, players might want to learn how to properly manipulate their shields. Learn to focus them on different parts of the ship, so in the case of having a persistent pursuer, this should be helpful until players can shake them and retreat for repairs.
