Mark Hamill reveals that he will be returning to provide the voice for one of his most iconic roles. Hamill is best known to many audiences for his portrayal of Jedi Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, a role he most recently reprised for The Mandalorian season 2 in 2020. Outside his beloved work in that franchise, Hamill's voice performance as the Joker has also garnered him significant acclaim, and he continues to work regularly in the voice acting space.
A new report from The Popverse now reveals that Hamill will be returning to voice Skips, an immortal yeti, on the announced Warner Bros. Discovery revival of Regular Show. Hamill announced the news while attending a at Fan Expo Chicago, where he confirmed that "‘There is only one Skips'." Check out Hamill's comment below in which he also touches on Regular Show's lasting appeal:
“I enjoyed it. It’s got kind of a Beavis and Butthead vibe in that it’s about these two losers who are highly critical of everyone else, Mordecai and Rigby. I didn’t think that one would go. If it were on Adult Swim and they could make pot references and stuff, that’s one thing, but this is for kids.
“Well, 8 seasons later I had to tell [J.G. Quintel], who created it, I had to it that I didn’t think it would go. I told him the very reason I just told you. It reminded me, maybe I should just write a book of advice, and then people just do the opposite, like George Costanza of Seinfeld.
"Here’s an interesting bit of news. I just heard this last week. They want to do 44 more episodes of Regular Show.
“William Salyers DMed me. He said, ‘Did you hear the news? I’m just worried, are you in or not?’ As if I’ve somehow outgrown them. I wrote him back saying, ‘There is only one Skips, and he’s very much looking forward to meeting with his old pal Rigby.’ He sent me a gif of somebody dancing with joy.”
What Mark Hamill's Return Means For The Regular Show Revival
Who Else Could Be Returning?
The Regular Show revival was first confirmed back in June, with Quintel returning to oversee the project. Few details have emerged about the show's revival, including what its title might be, and it wasn't at first clear which characters would be returning. Hamill's comment confirms that, not only will he be returning as Skips, but that Salyers will be reprising his role as Rigby, a raccoon who serves as one of the show's two main characters.

Regular Show's 10 Weirdest Episodes, Ranked
Regular Show has amassed a large following over the years, including older fans who are drawn to its surreal sense of humor and bizarre storylines.
Considering Quintel is returning as creator/ showrunner, he will presumably once again be voicing his lead character of Mordecai, a blue jay, meaning the new Regular Show episodes already have a number of core ingredients returning. The original series followed the misadventures of Mordecai and Rigby, with Skips serving as more of a ing character in their journey. With this dynamic seemingly set to return, the revival could also be bringing back other ing characters and actors, such as Benson (Sam Marin), Thomas (Roger Craig Smith), and Margaret (Janie Haddad Tompkins).
Regular Show aired on Cartoon Network, but the revival could end up being a Max exclusive.
Our Take On Hamill's Return For The Regular Show Revival
The Revival Is Off To A Strong Start
Skips was a highlight across Regular Show's original run from 2010 to 2017, and it's certainly good news for the revival that he will be returning. The challenge for any revival is recapturing what made the original show so great, and having a core trio of returning characters and the same creator is a positive first step.
With Hamill having now confirmed his own return, it's possible that more news regarding the return of Regular Show is on the horizon. More cast announcements, for example, could follow before the end of the year. It seems unlikely a trailer will arrive before 2025, but gears are clearly turning behind the scenes.
