Red Dead Redemption 2 released a little over a month ago to stellar reviews and huge sales for Rockstar and its parent company Take-Two Interactive. Though it's only over the next few days, as the game rolls out its Red Dead Online counterpart in beta form, that players will get the full experience that Red Dead Redemption 2 has to offer. Comparable to Grand Theft Auto 5's GTA Online mode, Red Dead Online will feature the single player's massive map and allow up to 32 players to explore and complete various activities and jobs with friends or even solo. One of the biggest rumored game modes for the online portion was some kind of battle royale mode, which has now been revealed to exist, though perhaps not in the form fans were expecting.

According to Twitter illogical Mods, who shared images from Rockstar's social club website, Red Dead Online will feature a battle royale-like job called Make It Count, which will pit players against each other in a "gradually shrinking player area." Participants will be equipped with only bows and arrows or throwing knives, depending on the areas players compete in (Saint Denis Plantation and Tall Trees will feature the bow while Stillwater Creek and Strawberry will include the throwing knives). The inclusion of a battle royale mode in Red Dead Online is certainly not a surprising development, thanks to website TrustedReviews' leak last year detailing such a mode. In fact, the leak itself forced the company to pay out £1 million pounds to charities as part of a settlement deal with Take-Two. Still, Rockstar's unique twist on the mode is probably something fans did not expect from Red Dead Online, especially the mode not utilizing the vast amount of weapons included in the game.

This move might be for the best however, as it not only promotes a more stealthy approach to battle royale, something other big names in the genre do not really focus on, but it also perhaps removes any issue with weapon balance problems that may arise. Of course, there's no way to say for certain that Rockstar won't eventually add a more traditional battle royale experience, with a map filled with six shooters and sniper rifles up for grabs. Based on their previous promise of avoiding copying other battle royale titles however, it seems clear that Rockstar and Take-Two want to assure that Red Dead Online is as unique an experience as possible.
