The Amazing Race decision to postpone filming might be the start of reality show trend. We could see similar steps taken on other reality shows. We listed a few series that could be in danger of delaying production due to the coronavirus.

Survivor

Survivor Filming

According to the with season 41 and 42, and as stated with Love Island, the Fiji islanders may be a bit worried about having American’s traveling and filming there. The Survivor and Love Island cast and crew are likely to have to undergo testing before entering Fiji. This could allow both shows to continue their filming plans, but the widespread panic of the coronavirus could increase the chances of filming cancellations and delays. The coronavirus epidemic has already affected season 41, which was supposed to begin filming in late March, now the Survivor team has moved filming 41 to mid-May, which possibly means that season 42 won't begin filming until July or August.

Love Island

Love Island 2020

gain a season two. Love Island opened casting for season 2 in February and the application process ends on March 20, with a May 21 premiere. Love Island likely plans to return to the Fiji villa for season 2. Fiji doesn’t have any known cases at the moment, but America has a pretty large number of coronavirus cases. We’re not sure that the Fiji natives would want Americans who could possibly carry the virus filming on their island. It’s likely CBS will take extra precautions and test everyone before filming and limit the location to only the villa. However, there is definitely a chance that CBS may have to delay filming if the coronavirus continues to spread in America and could cause health risks to other locations.

90 Day Fiancé

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way couple Deavan Clegg and Jihoon Lee spoke about how the outbreak has altered their life in South Korea on social media and on their Youtube channel. Since 90 Day Fiancé and its main spin-offs revolve around couples traveling to different countries to be with the person they love, it’s likely that the coronavirus development will delay filming in some way. There is no word about how the 2nd season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way will be affected, but fans can expect delays.

The Challenge

season 35 wrapped filming a while ago. However, production on The Challenge season 36 has yet to begin. Each season of The Challenge usually involves the players traveling outside of the USA to compete. The Challenge season 35 filmed in Prague, Czech Republic. Depending on the location and format of the season of The Challenge, filming may be delayed. The Challenge is one of MTV’s biggest hit series, so they’ll likely want to have a new season filmed soon and ready to churn out, possibly during fall or sooner. The Challenge may escape the coronavirus epidemic peak if it decides to wait until later in the year to film and air a new season.
