All Games Revealed At The Nintendo Direct (March 2025)
Several new games for Nintendo Switch have been revealed during the Nintendo Direct event held by the company in March, including anticipated titles.
The Digital Deluxe Edition also includes several DLC packs. The Kuzunoha Village Trainings DLC unlocks extra challenges that reward players with experience, in-game currency, and stat boosts. The Demons of the Aril Rift DLC brings special battles with exclusive rewards, while the Guest Demons Pack adds demons from other games in the Shin Megami Tensei series. Physical editions of the game will also be available for consoles, although PC is, unsurprisingly, sticking to the digital-only Steam release. While a physical Collector's Edition hasn't yet been revealed, one is planned for distribution through Limited Run Games.
The original 2006 game holds a Metascore of 74 and a Score of 8.8 on Metacritic, showing an average and generally favorable score, respectively.

Raidou Kuzunoha XIV, an apprentice detective and Devil Summoner, is tasked with solving the mystery. As Raidou investigates, he uncovers a larger conspiracy involving demons and supernatural threats. The story takes players through a fictional 1930s Tokyo, where demons lurk and mysteries await.
A sequel to the original game was released in 2008, titled Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon. However, there are even more games in the franchise, falling under the Megami Tensei series.
One of the standout characters in Raidou Remastered is Gouto, a black cat who accompanies Raidou throughout his investigation. The cat offers hints and guidance, making him an important part of Raidou’s journey, and there might be a little more to his character than you would assume at a glance.

Unlike most Shin Megami Tensei games and the preceding Devil Summoner titles, Raidou Remastered features a real-time battle system. You control Raidou as he teams up with over 120 demons, each with different abilities and weaknesses. Combat isn’t just about fighting, either. It’s ing strategy to take advantage of enemy weaknesses and manage resources like Magnetite or MAG, a special energy that powers demon abilities. Raidou can also perform MAG Drain attacks to steal MAG from enemies, adding more strategy to battles.
21 Years Later, My Favorite JRPG Still Hasn't Gotten The Remaster It Deserves
A JRPG that does everything right deserves a remaster that keeps its excellence intact, but the odds of that happening don't look very good.
Raidou’s detective skills are also important for solving the case. He can use abilities like Read Mind, which lets him hear people’s thoughts, and sometimes send demons on solo missions to uncover hidden clues. The game also includes the Art of Confinement, a unique system for capturing demons during battle.
Beyond capturing demons, Raidou can send them on investigations of their own. This feature adds an interesting layer to the gameplay, as it lets you uncover clues and gather information that would otherwise be impossible to find. The relationships Raidou builds with his demons are key to progressing through the story, and the game encourages experimentation with different demon combinations to unlock powerful abilities. With a wealth of demons to choose from and the ability to fuse them for new results, Raidou Remastered offers endless possibilities for customization and strategy.
The game is set during the Taishō period to show the mix of Eastern and Western cultures, combining Western Art Deco with late Edo period architecture, and exploring how society adapts and resists change.
Raidou Remastered also includes several updates to make the game easier and more enjoyable for players today. The remaster offers better save options, with more save slots, autosave, and quick save, so it’s easier to continue from where you left off. There are five difficulty levels, including the tough Detective Legend mode, which unlocks after finishing the game.
