first-party PlayStation console exclusives in recent years thanks to the impressive work of in-house developers like Insomniac, Sucker Punch, and Sony Santa Monica - for those who can get their hands on the PS5.

Getting ahold of a PlayStation 5 has been easier said than done since the cutting-edge new console launched last November, with retail websites struggling to keep units in stock long enough for everyone to buy one. This was brought on by many different factors, including processing chip shortages from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and internet scalpers snatching PS5s up using bots and reselling them at inflated prices. Things seem to be changing though, as more stores and websites like Amazon and Best Buy are getting restocks of the PS5 - and sales of PlayStation-exclusive games are going up as more players are finally able to grab a console to play them on.

PlayStation September 2021 Showcase: What Sony Fans Can Expect

Sony recently gave players a good look at what’s in store for PS5 owners during this month’s PlayStation Showcase livestream, which featured first looks at promising first-party exclusives like God Of War: Ragnarök and Insomniac’s one-two punch of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine. Meanwhile, Sony is continuing to improve the PS5 console itself with ongoing update patches, the most recent of which has added 3D Audio for TV speakers and compatibility with SSD expansion cards for extra game storage.

It's worth noting that some of the PlayStation-exclusive games topping the UK sales charts this week are also available on the PlayStation 4, but it wouldn't be difficult to guess that players who have finally secured a PS5 during the recent restocks are ordering up the system's most critically acclaimed first-party titles as well. More players are walking out of the virtual checkout line with a PlayStation 5 in hand, and with it access to some of the exclusives that Sony currently has to offer.
