The PS5 is scheduled to release on November 12, 2020, for the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand, and South Korea. It will release for the United Kingdom and the rest of the world on November 19th, 2020. Starting on November 12th, though, many PS5 games will start being released alongside the new console, while some PS4 games will get free next-gen upgrades.
While PS5 pre-orders were a bit chaotic, hype has transitioned partly to the new games releasing alongside the console. Overall, the PS5 titles releasing alongside the PlayStation 5 offer a good variety of different genres. While some titles may be announced in the future, the PS5 launch date is so close, there's a good chance these known PS5 games will be all that's available for launch day. Additionally, very few of these games are PS5 exclusives, which means they'll be available on the PS4 or other consoles as well. However, PlayStation 5 s will be able to play "nearly 99%" of all PS4 games on the PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility.
Every PS5 Game Releasing On Launch Day
Currently, there are a total of twenty-three games releasing at launch alongside the new PlayStation 5. This list may grow as the launch of the PS5 grows closer, and although Destruction AllStars was originally supposed to be a part of the PS5 launch game lineup, it has since been delayed to February 2021. However, there's a good chance these will be the only PS5 games available when the console first releases. In alphabetical order, the full list is:
- Assassin's Creed Valhalla
- Astro's Playroom
- Borderlands 3
- Bugsnax
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
- Demon's Souls
- Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition
- DIRT 5
- Fortnite
- Godfall
- Maneater
- Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered
- Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate
- NBA 2K21
- No Man's Sky: The Next Generation
- Observer: System Redux
- The Pathless
- Planet Coaster: Console Edition
- Poker Club
- Sackboy: A Big Adventure
- Watch Dogs: Legion
- WRC 9
For anyone who hasn't managed to purchase a PS5 yet, many of these games are releasing on other consoles. Some Sony exclusive titles, like Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales are cross-gen exclusives, which means PS4 versions of the games exist. Additionally, Bugsnax will mark the first PS5 game available through PS Plus in November. This is a fairly solid line-up of games for the PlayStation 5 at launch, which should please fans.
