The Crysis Remastered, in addition to the previously confirmed Shadow Warrior 3. Sony and developer Flying Wild Hog announced the Shadow Warrior 3 news just last week, noting their plans to release the action-packed first-person title day-and-date on PS Now. Interestingly, this marks the PlayStation service's first-ever day one launch, a practice most associated with Microsoft's Xbox Game platform.
PS Now has received more than a fair few heavy hitters in recent months. Mortal Kombat 11 and Final Fantasy XII headlined the new additions in January of this year, for instance. Meanwhile, the likes of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Judgment, and Red Dead Redemption 2 ed the service for a limited period of time last year. And hopes remain high that Sony will continue adding value to the platform's offerings, especially in light of uncorroborated reports that claim the publisher plans on combining PS Plus and PS Now into a tiered subscription in an attempt to compete with Xbox Game . While the public waits for Sony's denial or confirmation, PS Now continues to prove why it deserves more attention in its own right.
A Shadow Warrior 3 headlines the month, as previously promised, and will remain available to subscribers until July 4. Three other titles the service tomorrow as well, including Crysis Remastered, physics-based puzzle game Relicta, and noir-style, narrative-driven adventure Chicken Police - Paint It Red! - all three of which will maintain a spot in the PS Now library for an indefinite period of time.
Given developer Crytek's recent announcement of Crysis 4, Crysis Remastered seems an especially smart addition to next month's PS Now lineup. It is worth noting, however, that this particular entry in the service's library only includes the remastered release of the first Crysis title. Those wanting to explore the sprawling narrative from Prophet's perspective in Crysis 2 and 3 will have to do so by purchasing Crysis Remastered Trilogy, which launched last fall on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
Though Crysis Remastered and Shadow Warrior 3 will take up much of the oxygen, Relicta and Chicken Police - Paint It Red! count as promising PS Now arrivals, as well. Relicta places players in the role of a physicist whose exploration of a derelict moon base could alter the course of human history. Meanwhile, the bizarre Chicken Police adventure game sees chicken detectives Sonny and Marty reteam for their strangest case yet in the hardboiled crime opus from developer The Wild Gentlemen.
